I can't recall ever writing that I have sleepless nights worrying whether the dev returns. I pretty sure I more than once has written something like. I hope he returns. If not, I'm glad I had the chance to play what he has produced so far. Please stop twisting my words and putting words in my mouth. If you want to live your life bitching about everything, it's fine with me, but please find somewhere else to do it. Here it's just annoying and wasting everyone's time.

How about we agree to disagree, ends this discussion and hope for the best for the dev and his kid.

It's awfully funny of you to accuse me of "twisting your words" and "putting words in your mouth" when the only part of my message you acknowledged was a snippet that you twisted from me rehashing a common metaphor to somehow accusing you of apparently having literally said that you'd stayed awake at night waiting for a new Horizontical Studio update
That makes for a pretty sad attempt to claw the last word out just for the sake of it but yeah, this was a pointless argument anyways. Didn't even have a reason to be one, at that
As you'd have been able to tell if you were paying attention, I look forward to but do not await the possibility of the dev's return. I wish the best for him & his family, and do not fault him for prioritizing them over a porn game.

2 path good and bad kinda sucked - as perverted gameplay would suit to Porn game better

Alright, I don't know about anyone else, but I know about myself.

The only person working on this game hasn't responded to any messages on discord, the only place he posted in both actively and consistently, for half a year. He just hasn't been in touch with any updates about how things are developing, so we have no idea whether or not things are improving or if it is likely we'll see an update some time this year.

I have been getting frustrated with the lack of communication for a while, much more so than for the lack of updates to the game. There's a whole thing for the lab that has implications for everyone that I'm very invested in, so I'm just waiting to see it develop more.

I think we all hope that the dev will return at some point and continue his work, but we also need to respect that life sometimes throw your a curve ball, and that can send you down in a deep dark hole for quite a while. I have absolutely no idea what's happened to the dev, but I've close ones who went into a deep depression, which took years to recover from. During this time she was radio silent for more than a year. I wouldn't be surprised if something similar has happened to the dev, with the issues he has told us about before he went radio silent.

Meh! Optimism isn't a bad thing in itself, but the problem is others will follow, reading that as a statement of fact and start the bitching and whining all over again.
We should keep our assumptions to ourselves, wait for actual news.

If you can't see "any assumptions or facts in the posts" then you need to brush up on your English. He clearly wrote "He IS..." and "He CAN..."... Both are how you write statements of fact... As opposed to "I Believe he can", "I hope he is", etc. (obvious "can" is subjective to context)

You might have correctly ASSUMED his intent from other posts, but that doesn't change what he actually wrote or how others might read it.

You are quite right that English isn't my first language. But it doesn't change the fact the when you read his post in it's full, and don't quote out of context, it's pretty clear to me (and some of my American friends) that he is expressing a wish for the dev to come back, and that he hope the dev will get his life back on track.

They all read the posts the same way as I did. He is wishing for the dev to return, but have no knowledge about his fate.

But lets agree to disagree and stop splitting hairs in this pointless grammatical discussion, where none of us will ever admit being wrong.

Cute how you inject your assumptions into a question I asked Sōsuke Aizen, drawing it out into an argument then declare "Agree to Disagree"

It doesn't matter that English isn't your first language, BTW it's hilarious that you cite Americans in an argument about English Grammar, they are probably the single worst culprits in butchering the English Language (maybe tied with the English themselves)... AND the fact that your friends make the same assumptions doesn't stop them from being assumptions

You assume I'm arguing about Sōsuke Aizen intent, I'm not, I'm well aware that most people fail at grammar during Casual Speak (deliberately done to fit with specific social groups), and are worse because of Text Speak (Lazy Typing)... none of that changes the facts of what was written.

And maybe to worst assumption is that you seem to think I was attacking Sōsuke Aizen because I asked him a neutral question (that had the sole intent of resolving any ambiguity). All I wanted from him was either a simple
  • "oops, I didn't mean to present that as a fact, I was just being hopeful"
    or an
  • "I saw a post by the Dev on [site] saying [quote.]".

BTW I have zero interest in continuing this conversation with you.

The only recent activity on discord is a few people sharing their renders. No word from the developer.
Unless Sōsuke Aizen knows TRM personally (which nobody in the discord server does, we just like his work), then nothing said is anything more than badly written speculation.

There are more sites than Discord, and I've had conversations (PM's here) with the Dev without knowing him personally (none recently).. so there are potentially a few sources of news... But I tend to agree, Discord is the likely source of any news.

Well. USA holds the largest single population of English speaking people, so they kind of define the way English is developing whether you like it or not. And last I checked, Trump hasn't talked about changing the official language of USA to American or something similar, but he will probably jump at it if someone suggest it to him.
