There's nothing confusing about it, we disagree on what is reasonable. I don't like that the Dev has gone silent, but I can imagine a number of events that would explain this situation while you can't.

Well. I'm only referring to this dev. and saying I do believe he has some serious family issues he needs to deal with, and that they aren't solved in a few months. That doesn't mean I believe all the excuses various dev's has for being radio silence for a while or ditching their game before it's complete. I believe this dev, and I trust he comes back once his family issues are solved. Maybe he doesn't, It don't know, but I'll still be happy I had the chance to play what he has produced so far, and I won't complain about him not giving me a reason why he never returned. In the end. I played his game for free, just like you did.
Constant care, often means a stable condition. If you have read what the dev. has written about his kids situation, you would know that it's not at all stable, and that it requires repeatedly visits to the hospital, and not the scheduled ones. Please. don't try to downplay what the dev. is going through, just because you have had someone close who has been in an accident. It's by far not the same.
I really don't understand what your problem is. You are playing his game for free, and complaining about him being radio silent, while his kid is seriously ill. No wonder why dev's sometime says enough is enough and ditch their game before it's complete. You should be thankful of all the time he has invested in this game so far, not complaining about him not posting anything for 6 months, despite the reason.

I'm not complaining, you're the one taking what I'm saying as an affront to his character. I'm skeptical that he'll care to return, not cursing his name for not having put out a new update
You're also assuming I haven't put any of my own money towards him. Correctly, this time, but it was still another hail-mary assumption.
And regardless of whether I'd subscribed to him at any point, this stillborn culture of "Nobody can criticize anything they haven't put their own money towards" never fails to give me a laugh. I can point at whatever I want for whatever reason I want. If the best counter you can offer is "you didn't pay, shut up" you should really consider letting someone else handle it

I can't recall ever writing that I have sleepless nights worrying whether the dev returns. I pretty sure I more than once has written something like. I hope he returns. If not, I'm glad I had the chance to play what he has produced so far. Please stop twisting my words and putting words in my mouth. If you want to live your life bitching about everything, it's fine with me, but please find somewhere else to do it. Here it's just annoying and wasting everyone's time.
How about we agree to disagree, ends this discussion and hope for the best for the dev and his kid.

As you'd have been able to tell if you were paying attention, I look forward to but do not await the possibility of the dev's return. I wish the best for him & his family, and do not fault him for prioritizing them over a porn game.
Alright, I don't know about anyone else, but I know about myself.
The only person working on this game hasn't responded to any messages on discord, the only place he posted in both actively and consistently, for half a year. He just hasn't been in touch with any updates about how things are developing, so we have no idea whether or not things are improving or if it is likely we'll see an update some time this year.
I have been getting frustrated with the lack of communication for a while, much more so than for the lack of updates to the game. There's a whole thing for the lab that has implications for everyone that I'm very invested in, so I'm just waiting to see it develop more.
I think we all hope that the dev will return at some point and continue his work, but we also need to respect that life sometimes throw your a curve ball, and that can send you down in a deep dark hole for quite a while. I have absolutely no idea what's happened to the dev, but I've close ones who went into a deep depression, which took years to recover from. During this time she was radio silent for more than a year. I wouldn't be surprised if something similar has happened to the dev, with the issues he has told us about before he went radio silent.

I can't see any assumptions or facts in the posts from Sōsuke Aizen. I read all his posts as wishes for the dev to get his life back on track and come back, not as facts or assumptions.
If you can't see "any assumptions or facts in the posts" then you need to brush up on your English. He clearly wrote "He IS..." and "He CAN..."... Both are how you write statements of fact... As opposed to "I Believe he can", "I hope he is", etc. (obvious "can" is subjective to context)
You might have correctly ASSUMED his intent from other posts, but that doesn't change what he actually wrote or how others might read it.
You are quite right that English isn't my first language. But it doesn't change the fact the when you read his post in it's full, and don't quote out of context, it's pretty clear to me (and some of my American friends) that he is expressing a wish for the dev to come back, and that he hope the dev will get his life back on track.
I think it's more about whether you see the glass as half full or half empty. I've shown the 2 posts from Sōsuke Aizen to some of my friends who have lived their whole life in US. They all read the posts the same way as I did. He is wishing for the dev to return, but have no knowledge about his fate.
But lets agree to disagree and stop splitting hairs in this pointless grammatical discussion, where none of us will ever admit being wrong.

It doesn't matter that English isn't your first language, BTW it's hilarious that you cite Americans in an argument about English Grammar, they are probably the single worst culprits in butchering the English Language (maybe tied with the English themselves)... AND the fact that your friends make the same assumptions doesn't stop them from being assumptions
You assume I'm arguing about Sōsuke Aizen intent, I'm not, I'm well aware that most people fail at grammar during Casual Speak (deliberately done to fit with specific social groups), and are worse because of Text Speak (Lazy Typing)... none of that changes the facts of what was written.
And maybe to worst assumption is that you seem to think I was attacking Sōsuke Aizen because I asked him a neutral question (that had the sole intent of resolving any ambiguity). All I wanted from him was either a simple
- "oops, I didn't mean to present that as a fact, I was just being hopeful"
or an - "I saw a post by the Dev on [site] saying [quote.]".
