It just doesn't fit though. You look at all the variables in the game, it's pretty clear dev doesn't just want to tell a sunshine and rainbows story. Variables like loisslut or loissub or karislut would have no place in what you're describing, and while I'm sure some patrons have outsized influence, you can't tell me they determine things like path variables.

No, I don't, because the original conversation was over "jarring deviations from their normal character profiles". A sweet caring girl who's a girlfriend becoming some fetishized dom-sub relationship is no more strange to me than a girl who whores it up because she gets rejected, ala Kari. (Back in the real world, you might call the second frightfully common).
Do I personally want that for Kari? No, not at all - her being some bathroom prostitute is disgusting, I only played that path to explore after all others. By the same token, I've no interest in a girl that wants to be called a cumslut by her boyfriend and choked out.
This is exactly what I meant above by "notion of fitting the character profile though will be extremely subjective on what one's existing preferences are". We don't have to agree on our personal preferences for character behavior, but if we're to describe them as "normal", there needs to be some reasonable understanding of what normal means. To me, Kari is introduced as a nice, fairly naive and innocent girl at the start.

But anyhow, there's a lot of other cleaning up of inconsistencies outside of that route that really should be looked at more imo.
Especially that content where you take Lois to that kink club and you working with her solo is a complete nothingburger, and it forces you to have that old hag fuck her with a strapon or others do shit to her otherwise. I really don't want her staying in the complex at all seeing that stuff, but I want to see what favor Lois will "owe" me for that.

Yeah I definitely think it's a weird decision to pick Kari for this storyline of prostituting herself in the back of a bar/restaurant. However, I don't mind it because to me, these are two completely separate people, from two different realities. The reality where some idiot turns down a relationship with that angel, well... that's what happens I suppose. Me being a based Chad, didn't turn her down in the first place, so I never ran across any of that bullshit.
In my opinion there are definitely bigger issues with the game, that hopefully get addressed sooner rather than later.

Nobody has said (that I've noticed) that Lois being submissive is out of character. That conversation is about Kari, who doesn't have a submissive route.

Started reading here to see if I was the only one with this issue. Granted, from other comments it seems that I'm (again) the weird one for not dating Kari.
About Kari:
Her whole style just doesn't appeal to me. I told her I didn't find her attractive, didn't care for her belly piercing (or piercings in general), then 30 days later she finally confronts me and asks if I like her or not. Meanwhile, she's been prancing around in sexy underwear, and leaving the bathroom door open (told the game I'd never peek). But when we're watching TV, she's on the far end of the room on the other sofa. And when we're talking over dinner, she hardly tells the MC anything about herself. For being in love, she's very standoffish and closed off.
When I turned Kari down, she disappeared for 2 days, then suddenly re-appears again to make me coffee in the mornings. No dialog about how she's feeling, where she's been, didn't answer her phone, or what she's planning to do. She's just there.
Her call with Pete also rubbed me the wrong way. It was clear to me that Pete was trying to set us up.
When we go to the pizza place, we're walking arm in arm, as if we're a couple. I didn't buy her a cellphone, but then 2 days later the MC calls Keri on her cellphone, but Keri never even mentioned getting one or giving the MC her number... There's a lot of stuff like this that just doesn't add up.
Also, why is the MC still sleeping on the sofa? The room was emptied 2 weeks ago, he can afford a bed ffs.
Honestly, this game seems like an ocean wide but a puddle deep. It's a shame really.

Never progressed with Kari, but after the family & genetics-reveal, she tells her co-worker (karaoke night after casual Friday) that I'm her boyfriend...
Then this:
Note: I didn't tell her about what the doctor said about babies, but she brought it up later anyway. I then declined the making-babies-arc and told her I had confidence in medical advances.
I understand when a game needs to merge two tracks (like cellphone or not), but this just invalidates my choices outright.
Edit: It seems like the Karaoke evening is a mess in general. I didn't hire Bree or Kayla, yet they're still there. Also, no idea who Rei is.
