The dev often goes back and fiddles with things in older chapters between updates, so there likely isn't a clear cut-off point. A mod for 12.05 is likely to be out of sync with even early parts of the 12.08 version.

The whole 12.xx cycle is considered closed/experimental betas by the dev. I'd expect the next (somewhat) stable version to appear once the numbering ticks over to 0.13.

It doesn't matter where the cutoff is between the two versions of the game because the version of the mod you're using doesn't go with either of them. The first couple of lines of the comment you quote from the modder mentions the mod always breaking between versions, being difficult to update every version, and their intention to stop updating the mod.

You're not going to get a response to your "report" because the solution to your error is already addressed in the mod description you quoted: it only works with v0.12.05 and you've only reported the results of trying to use it with other versions and the expected results of attempting to do so.

I'm not sure what exactly you're hoping will get better in a year or so, but to not get the error, you will either have to play the game unmodded or use the mod with its intended version. Actually quoting the text with all the answers to your questions without reading it is a new level of not reading, even for this site

I've missed this game. I'm glad it finally just got updated again. And I totally agree about the unclear cut-off point. I hope it does go out of beta and gets a free, public release so I can finally release a new update to my walkthrough mod. It's been half a year since I did the last one.
