Oh, that. Well, all I'll say to that is context is everything. Sometimes you get femdom games all about a matriarchy, emasculating men, and stripping them of rights. Which if you ask me, leaves the fetish behind and enters more into the realm of power fantasy and political territory.
The thing is, to some people, politics and power fantasy (or, in this case, helplessness/lack of power fantasy I suppose) is a fetish itself. In fact, in some ways it is taking one's kink for female domination to one of its highest possible limits, where one submits not just their dominant role in bed or in the relationship, but their very rights, liberties or, in some cases, their philosophy, ideas, worldview and entire life outside of the relationship with the domme to her, where one submits everything for their mistress and whatever gynarchic world order she represents.
Everything is political - you do realize that, right? Playing porn games and fapping to them, even if they're the most milktoast vanilla experience you can imagine with no "crazy" ideas like matriarchies, slavery and political disenfranchisement and oppression of an entire sex, is still a political act which will get you cancelled/disowned by some evangelical anti-porn conservatives if they're your friends/family. Everything you, I or anyone else does or says can be interpreted as political and is going to be informed by the person's philosophical and political beliefs, even if unconsciously so - it's just that games like this one or Moving Down venture so much deeper into those themes (imo in a very hot way) than your average male-pleasure-centric "femdom" paizuri game that it becomes too obvious even for apolitical people not to notice. And ofc it's fine if you're not into gynarchic social engineering stories, as I agree that's a very different and far more hardcore kink than most, but all other kinks are also political to a lesser extent.
Personally I really enjoy dark femdom stories with gynarchic themes, although it does somewhat disappoint me that most mistreses in such settings tend to be very cruel and indifferent towards their sub/slave and that very often they feel like blank carbon copies of each other with variance only in terms of their kinks, which is why I'm really looking forward to more loving femdom content in dark gynarchic societies, so I can't wait for the Vivienne route in the next update! (although, knowing darktoz, he'll probably still give her some sadistic twist that wasn't apparent until now
) Tbf to Darktoz, especially in SoB, he has several unique mistresses that have an interesting personality beyond the "sadistic bitch who gets off to your suffering but is cold and distant and has no emotional involvement in the relationship" trope that plagues some dystopian femdom games - in fact, for all of her cold blood, I'd say Bellatrix
is still warmer and more imbued with an actual personality than, say, many of the mistresses in KG.
Won't comment much on the futa/pegging/feet debate, as I agree those are separate kinks that can be incorporated into a femdom narrative, but aren't intrinsically "femdom". (futadom is a different fetish - I would only consider it femdom if the futa character is dommed by an actual female, and footjobs for example can also be given in a vanilla or maledom context)
Oh, yes. The lovecraft vampire witch heavy femdom experience is just so overused these days. but 13 year old boy gets reverse raped...now that is something the world has never seen before
Mandatory red heart for defending the "vampire witch heavy femdom experience" from cheap shots! SoB is potentially the most original femdom game made in the past 2 years or so in terms of its themes/atmosphere, even UI, storytelling and many other things! (I'm totally not biased as a person whose entire username is a reference to Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines, a vampire horror game with many dominant-leaning powerful female characters...
)
