Oh, these fundamentals at least to me are loud and clear, its the optimization that i am worried about, since this game is a roguelike. I had a 80 hours save where i just brute force stuff by creating 1-shotted the mob weapons and the likes.
While it worked up to0.82f, 0.86c introduced 2 traps that......is honestly breaks my run if triggered
The difficulty spike of those 2 feature has left me stuck really
I bet one of the traps you're referring to is the trap that completely wipes out the walls in a map and makes all enemies in the floor hostile to you. I highly agree with you that, without a proper set-up, facing one of these traps can be fatal (and complete bullshit tbh).
In this case you either have to get lucky to be near the portal and rush towards it with all you have or have to fight every enemy but will likely get you knocked down (in order to have the follow-up attack that will clear most of close enemies when you inevitably get surrounded).
The easiest way to counter this trap in my opinion is to have some potions that put you in hidden state or to try some rng with teleportation potions; another quite consistent option is to have a jumping skill (prefereably the cutthroat skill) attached to an accessory with +1 jump distance (you can also do the same thing with focusing on "moving" instead of "jumping", but the jumping bonus allows you to move more since you get a lot of SP regeneration).
The other trap I think you're referring to is the one that makes the reaper come earlier to the floor, making you have to rush towards the end of the dungeon (similar to the distortion trap mentioned above).
I've been playing a bit of the new endless mode and those traps were a pain in the ass, especially if you encounter them in the early stages.
Another cool but very challenging thing in my opinion is the fact that when going to a new floor, there's a chance that it is completely filled with enemies in each room. I really like the idea but the issue I have with them is that the enemies never attack each other as they do in some maps, instead they all target you which is quite unfair.
