They tried to gather their community, the same way the Rebels do. So what? People are way too greedy and awfully child-like and it's DWP's fault? Please.
It's not DWP's fault it was the community who wasn't ready to act mature. I think DWP community is way bigger what Rebels, and it includes all types of people. While good people tend to keep low profile, bad people make the reputation for the entire community.
IMHO it's less than 1% of a community who were involved in incident with Toska, who was whining about speeds, and in general, let's say, was socially active in a bad way. But it's 99% who actually suffers from the 1% behavior. And nothing of that would have happened if not for the discord and reddit.

As I said it's not DWP's fault, just bad choice, bad timing. I liked it more when it was just the site. I hope that if there would be DWP 2.0 they wouldn't repeat their predecessors mistakes.

In my humble opinion, DWP should have never made that Reddit page. Ever.
That gave the entitled and desperate people a window to complain over and over again and allowed the admin to see such complains directly.

If you're a DWP veteran, you know that the first few days are slow in terms of downloading stuff. You wait a bit and try, try again.

Another victory for greedy patreon creators..... at least until someone else creates a DWP 2.0. You know it will happen one way or another.
Majority on their reddit from what I read seemed to be upset creators who used it as a trolling ground to hit back. If you want to create your own social community that's fine, but you also have to be realistic and know that element would accompany it especially on a place like reddit. Miriah is too nice of an individual because anyone emailing me about download speeds I would just email them back laughing emojis if it were me but everyone is different.

What I see today is that everybody has an opinion, but what I also see is that those who have an opinion, most of them do nothing to contribute and share. Just I want , I want, and I want ..... When you, that work, that share, that helps say "it is over !!! I am done !!!", they are not even able to see how they contribute to this, they aren't able to just understand an say:

THANK YOU for you dedication, work, share.

They continue to say rubbish and continue thinking that they are right.

Please stop to be like "PARASITE", please one time in your life be humble, and just say:

DWP
Thank you for your time, dedication, and I hope we could see you again!

Funny - if you read the rules of the Reddit site and how it mentions of no bullying etc!... I'm personally gutted when you consider all of the work put in (outside of her family and other work commitments and just having a life). Generally, the people who moan, are the self-entitled, selfish people who have never worked a day in their life!

I'm trying to use aggrrs Tampermonkey script in firefox, but i cannot get it to work. As i know nothing of scripts, i follow the guide a few pages back. On first load of simsdom pages the script seems to do nothing, when reloading a page it shows [object Object] on an otherwise blank page.
Do any of you use the script successfully in firefox?

Regarding the DWP situation, you really have to be of a certain mindset to deal with the whiners online. I generally stayed in the background modding until a few friends talked me finally into releasing on Steam and elsewhere. And of course with greater exposure comes tons of idiotic comments by morons. At first I got very angry about it and was close to pulling the plug on the whole thing many times. Then I happened to be browsing a game forum and some of the devs hilariously were having some fun with the whiners. That got me thinking. Now I actually look forward to new idiotic comments because it's an excuse to make fun of them. :devilish:

And that's the trick. Whether it's modding, bypassing a bunch of creepy CC practices, or even game development. Anything online that attracts any great crowd is going to bring the nuts. You've got to expect stupid comments and turn it into a game for yourself. Otherwise rage-quitting is the inevitable and even correct outcome.

OOOR... just don't have comments and you avoid the whole issue entirely. <-- That was generally my policy before and it's still a good one I think.

The nice thing about the internet is that everyone has a voice.
The bad thing about the internet is that everyone has a voice.

Best thing to do is ignore the trolls, when you're the target that's harder, and DWP endured a lot, not only on reddit but via e-mail too. You guys should understand that being target of attacks isn't easy, you need to have a thick skin or be a skeleton without feelings.

I'm happy to see that the silent majority is showing up there to at least say goodbye and show some good vibes. They deserve that.

EXACTLY.

Rebels discord and DWP were EXTREMELY well run and were a pleasure to be a part of, but that Reddit page was a HUGE fuck up. Yall want to deny it all you want so be it, but nothing but negative things happened after that Reddit page was made. That reddit looked and felt like a "look at me" move and it worked. It brought you the attention of a lot of creators and their minions who got in your heads and KICKED your ass.

Until this moment I didn't know that unlike chrome, firefox can't execute javascript from address bar. So I've changed the code. Turns out you don't actually need to run it from the address bar, it was possible just call the function. I guess it is part of learning curve.. The first issue is: in code editor those functions now marked with yellow triangles, but they do work anyway. The second issue is that firefox doesn't support CSS zoom attribute. So, I've changed this bit as well. Now it is 5 parameters to edit: margins top and right, width and height of the button and font-size.

Updated version works with TamperMonkey, tested on Chrome, Firefox and Opera:

Those who never used my script can follow original instruction: link. Just use new code instead of the old one.
For those of you who has original script installed: Left-click on Tampermonkey icon -> Dashboard -> click on edit icon next to script's name -> replace code with new one -> save.

To edit appearance of the download button you need to edit highlighted parameters.

Edit: changed button style so it wouldn't be blocking header.
