Would you include all the necessary CC in this megapack?
Anyway i'm super interested, we got also good tools to automatically populate worlds with sims from tray( Carl's Sim Spawner & Filter Tool and an MC command center feature) but i can't use these features because my tray folder is pure trash, filled with copies of the same sim, sims without hair and cc, maxis match sims that don't belong with CC sims and stuff like that.
This pack would be very useful for some of my saves and to have more sims to choose from and of course more custom content. I hope you manage to upload it!
Oh of course I'd include all the CC. Its a pet peeve I've grown where you download a sim only to find a text doc with a million links.

Not only that, but I'd only include CC that was vital to the appearance of the character. Some creators include outdated copies of wickedwhims and other script reliant mods that break the game, so if you're not observant when downloading you're in for headache. Only appearance related CC shall be included.

I'm experiencing infinite loading screens resulting in me not being able to access my saved games, Can anyone suggest any solution other than uninstalling the game and reinstalling it again?
First off I would check all my script files to make sure they were up to date. If it still does it, I would remove half my cc and see if that helps. Then slowly had them back in until it happens again, then you can find you culprit. Start with the oldest CC.

I'm in the process of creating a megapack, hand-picking sims from various creators, and creating some custom ones myself, and grouping them so there's a massive variety of sims to choose from for your next game with very little effort on your part.

It's still early on, I've gotta clean out a lot of broken CC from the actual mods folder, and there's still plenty of good looking sims still coming out. Just wanted to poke around here to see if there's any interest in a public release, mostly to drum up motivation for this undertaking.

This is only a snippet of what I've got done so far, and I'm gonna be going through a few iterations of adding and removing various sims. Thoughts?

Well happy to see you peaking interest in tackling something like this. And based on your follow up comments, you are def speaking my language. Personally I am not interested, but that is only because my gallery already looks like yours! :) However, plenty of times I've thought of a godsend such as what you're proposing.

Thoughts:
1. Massive amount of time in the exporting and organizing (i.e. the actual work); I hope you have a streamlined process lol. Creating subfolders of that cc too I imagine. God speed.
2. Massive file sizes. Some of my exports are like 800mb a sim! Make sure you weed out larger files you can replace like skin overlays, and keep only 1 outfit per category.
3. File storage/organization: If 1 sim can be large, idk how insane an 8 cc fam will be. Let alone doing this a number of times for all your families.
4. Not trying to give you more work or discourage, but if I had a Family of 8 pack to quickly download, was organized into subfolders, that I could just drop tray and cc files into my game, that'd be huge for a lot of people I imagine.
5. Maybe start with 1 fam of 8 pack and see how it goes.

I appreciate the advice! I'll definitely keep it in mind. My mod folder is about 209gb right now, so I have quite a bit of paring down to do o_O. Maybe releasing individual houses would be a good idea once the basic organization is done.

I'm also using tools like sims 4 mod manager and sims 4 tray importer, so the actual handling and sorting of mods is no big deal. Lemme tell you, the mod manager is a god-send cause so many people have duplicate CC, just with slightly different names. Saved me a lot of potential overlap.

I don't know how but I just cut a mod called cas room to desktop started the game then closed the game and pasted it(cas room) back into the mods' folder. Now the cas is working. Idk what is going on but atleast it's fixed now.
Whatever custom CAS room you've got you need to update it. There was an issue with those with mirrors. Creators are uploading new files.

Oh dude I've been picking from all over. Kemono, /tsg/, the sims resource, a few from here I think, a handful I could only find on the wayback machine, but mostly loverslab. If you point to a specific sim you want a closer look at I can probably find its source.

Wow, 200Gb, huh... I would go insane, and I have a lot. I stay around the 93-95GB mark. Literally just spent the day refining my mod folder with a new technique. Yes, I use those programs you mentioned religiously, but I also have Sims4TrayImporter. Add it to your process! Huge. Basically it reads the cc for any lots and households. Ex: if you have broken CAS cc (question mark skin), then equip the bad cc to a dummy sim, save to your gallery, then use this program to locate those files. And you can quickly jump to the folder location of that CC. It also highlights conflicts, but still use in tandem with the other stuff too. Assuming you have this program already though if you plan on uploading tray files. ;)

EDIT: Oh, you mentioned Sims4TrayImporter in your post, my bad. Still valid new technique at least for me. Also, use Sims4Studio! It can do lots of things, but also merge/unmerge mod packages. That might be helpful too!

Is it possible to revert the update and return to the previous version of the game?
Absolutely! First you need to backup your installation and configuration/mod folders to a separate location. I have a backup drive for this purpose. This must be done BEFORE you allow the game to update. After that game is updated, lets say everything is broken... you can delete your updated installation and configuration/mod folders and replace them with the directories you backed up. This is the only way I know of to revert the game to an earlier state.

I run TS4 on Arch Linux in a sandbox. I backup the wine instance it is running in before the upgrade. I have firewall rules to prevent the EA app from accessing the internet UNTIL I am ready to upgrade.

How well does TS4 run on Linux? Just curious. Does it run with mods well?

I would give TS4 a 'platinum' ranking as far as compatibility is concerned. I have DXVK installed on my OS and within WINE. DXVK handles DX11 translations to OpenGL flawllessly. I have not used windows in years so I have nothing to compare it to. The game and modifications run very well, I will also add that it runs Sims4Studio so I can edit mods. I have roughly 30 gigs of mods installed and the game loads pretty fast. About 60 seconds or less when launching a modded savegame. I expect native performance or better due to the lighter footprint of my operating system. Most of the Windows games in my Steam library run very well on Linux. I still prefer Linux native games but I will opt for Windows titles if they have a high enough ranking on or . I will note that I avoid Valve's Proton where possible, instead I use WineStaging with DXVK installed into it. My results differ from other users, I have been using WINE for many years and I prefer to do things the 'official way' to ensure I get the best results with running Windows apps on my Linux machines.
