What changed since the last update (short, spoiler-free):

• September Montage built and finished. A full multi-phase sequence with A/B/C/D beats, new choices, and mirrored follow-ups.
• Seven different routes to go through. Every route is different, some significantly more so then others.
• Updated old images and added more. I changed some of the older images and gifs to shrink the size of the game a bit and to make the art more consistent.

Scope growth: added around 290 passages so the total is now over 650
Art expansion: added around 125 more images and gifs.

Save Compatibility

Some systems/flags were reworked in this update. Old saves may behave oddly.
Recommended: start a new run for this build to ensure all branches and checks fire correctly.

• Try repeat runs. To see the different outcomes.
• Pay attention to small checks and choices. They unlock scenes you will not see otherwise.
• Also you have different outcomes in the houses depending on how close you are to the House leader.

Hi thank you very much. I am grateful for your comment and happy that you are enjoying the game thus far. Providing the player numerous choices that would impact their experience was a primary focus for me. I have seven planned endings, so its a core mechanic.

Hi do you mean "A cold certainty settles in your gut. The other path is closed to you. You simply lack the necessary... aptitude." under the Confront Ethera option? Or do you mean that you can't click it?

If it is the text then the simple answer is that text like that shows up when either your skills aren't up to par or you missed something along the way, that is needed to unlock that special option. In the passage "The Final Days: Sovereignty" if you get the text here it means that you have missed something to unlock the other path. Hope that clears it up.

Nope not abandoned, I'm still working on chapter 4. It is taking a bit of a time since I have implemented some optional minigames for the exams (so had to learn to do that, since this is my first ever game and I started this journey with 0 knowledge), plus sometimes it takes a while to write all the text in the game . Even with a clear outline on what is supposed to happen in every chapter it can be hard to get it right on the pages. Finally the sad part this is just a hobby for me, I don't even have a patreon or subscribestar so sadly sometimes even though I want to work on the game it can't be my main priority when you know life happens.

In short though I'm hoping to get out the next chapter within a couple of weeks. And I'm grateful for everyone who has taken an interest in the game so far

New Update: What changed since the last update (short, spoiler-light):

• "From Exams to Aftermath" This takes the player through the exams, a big event and how it changes the status quo.
• Introducing some new and "old" characters That means some characters that were already in the game but locked on some specific paths are now available for players from every different path if the player so chooses.
• Short simple stat-based mini-games for players with lower stats during the exam.
• Updated old images and added more I yet again changed some of the older images you will notice pretty quickly if you start up a new game at least some of them.

Scope growth: added around 150 passages so the total is now over 800 passages
Art expansion: added around 150 more images and gifs so the total is now over 500

A nice quality of life would be to choose your name before your starting trait. At the moment, when you restart you need to put your name back in manually if you want a different bonus.

That is a fair question, and something I will absolutely think about going forward. I'm not saying I will just add it for the sake of adding it, but if I'm making a scene where it could fit then that's something that might happen.

I get where you are coming from, I just don't really know how I would go and implement that. Since you even mentioned that when you restart that takes you back to the first passage of the game, thus you can't add the name before that. But I will look into it and see if I can come up with something for the next update. I seem to have fixed the issue, so from update v.0.05 and forward it should remember the name you write in even when you press restart. Thanks for the idea.

Yes, you can exit that encounter gaining stats instead of losing them. A small hint "The "Red Box": If you see the "Path Closed / Missing Aptitude" text in a red box, it does not necessarily mean your stats are too low. It often means you missed a specific story trigger or item earlier in the run. Hope that helps

Enjoyed the game and tried out every run I could find. 5/5 man, good job! Keep it up! The only thing I could suggest is allowing us to interact with professors from different houses more, perhaps if we impress them somehow, such as during the big exam. Additionally, we could allow further branching out to different house interactions, similar to the ending, more frequently. Besides that, I love the images/gifs you chose!
