Hey guys,
Its Jim an old time friend to most of you and I have some bad and good news.
Rocco, my friend, our long-time artist, and co-developer on the game has decided to step away from the project permanently. Over the last two years, his personal and professional life outside of game development kept pulling him away from the workload of the game, we tried multiple times to make it work but it was not possible unfortunately and thus after a long, honest discussion, we agreed that he won’t be able to return to active production.
Thankfully, Rocco and I reached a positive agreement. I’ve purchased his 50% stake in the game and the page, and I now hold full ownership. With that, the path is clear for me to continue
The Spellbook and bring it to completion.
What happens next:
I’m assembling a new, dedicated team to
polish, improve, and finish The Spellbook.
This project was my first, I started it in 2018!!! For a short while I developed it alone, and then just a couple of months into Episode 2 in 2019 Rocco joined. For a solid five years we pushed out content monthly and built something that meant a lot to both of us and all of you.
Now the priority is simple:
Get the project back on its feet as fast as possible and deliver the full experience the game was always meant to be.
To everyone who stayed, supported, or waited
Thank you. Truly... I have no words.
Your patience, trust and support are the only reason this project still exists after the quiet years. Now it’s on me to bring it home, and I intend to do exactly that.
As a thank-you: I vow to finish the game and
once the game is done, everyone here will receive a Steam key for anything we release for The Spellbook on Steam.
More updates soon
I’ll share behind the scene updates as the new team starts to take shape and we start working.
Jim
