I will gladly change it, in fact I already did a small adjutment according to one of the very few constructive comments here.
So, sorry if it was misleading. Honestly, I tried my best to correctly describe the stuff I make. I mean it.
In fact there is swinging tag and if I recall correctly there wasn't one allowed for sharing.
It's cool no need to be sorry about anything you have your life which doesn't surround it probably to be on this forum,just bare in mind here u gonna see quite fucked up things and i think maybe u needed to do more research about some kinks and tags before publishing the game and i know is not your fault f95 never fixed their tags area and i think some of them are wrong u see people think about tags how they feel about it and that's why the thread is full with it ...read your reviews aswell but those that are constructive that u already have and learn from those probably they will be more soon.. peace (y)

As i said, as a constructive feedback, mixing opposite tags like netori vs. netorase ir harem vs. netorare will not double the audience of your AVN, but instead significantly lessen it. What you do with that is up to your own discretion.

You Live and learn. When I read the dev notes I was so confused. It almost sounded like you were trying to convince everyone that your way of looking at NTR Was the correct way. If it’s a misunderstanding, then that’s perfectly fine. Trust me there are many devs who try to do that. “bro it’s technically not NTR” so yeah, that’s why people can get a bit aggro.

a lot of people here have been tricked a few times before. Devs that lied or added NTR to the game without warning. That’s the whole context basically.

Totally agree here. Dev here is taking strongly his position for what seems to be NTR for him but definitely, his definitions aren't highly shared. Definitions and warnings given here seems more like a "You muggles doesn't know what it really is"... Yeah maybe that's true but also there's nobody to change what we, as players, are liking or not as the common ideas we have behind definitions and tags...

Dev really want's to warn people about some things they may not like with definitions and explanations which are really long and approximativ (personnaly, it even give the feeling that Dev himself is losing himself in those explanations). So rather than doing boring, windy and condescending explanations (to my feeling which seems to be shared), I suggest to be simple! It will be easier for everyone and the real target people of this game will be more attracted and let the others pass.

For now, it more feels like "It's like NTR but it isnt' because you will have the same taste, same feeling, you will have the same result,... but only because it's reached by another way - Call a cat a dog because they are both animals - and I Know I'm right!"... Meh... Why making it so hard when it could be so simple for everyone?...

Very true as for myself. I have to strongly notify here that I'm not pointing at anyone. Most of the time it's "just" a thing "forgotten" (trully or wanted...) in description but there are too many people wanting to prove "they are right so everybody have to follow, accept or agree" but also, there are too many people who so want to force what they like to people who dislike... It's really like a kink... And it make people more aggressiv (as myself, I agree and sorry for that) to what they dislike. So especially for that, there are really no point to try making people like something who dislike it. As said "If you don't like it, just pass" and as the same, I want to say "If you want the target people to play, don't try to force the ones who dislike and call a cat a cat". Will give everybody better times and better use of it!

Edit: There will be SS updates after all. Not gonna back out of what I said though, gonna keep posting them here too.

Second and most probably more important thing to you is about state of 0.2 update. In short work is going steadily forward. Scenario for the update is practically done, 30% of the scenes have been rendered and most of them have already been set up... The only thing I haven't touched much is coding and dialogue. When will it be done? When it's done. Whole thing stays, "I've got some spare time" type of gig. Expect some more sneak peeks in meantime.

What's coming up? Among others, major development of the story, giving you deeper insight into how Ryudo works and in result (as I hope) better understanding of the whole setting. Oh and at least 3 H scenes are being cooked for this one :)

What else can I say? About 55% of the scenes were rendered, including major story advancing one. Having some spare time in holiday season is truly a blessing.
And if you want exact numbers... I won't give you any... Yet.
I will just say there are over 450 renders as of now.

Alright! This time there will be no renders, only numbers and letters, a lot of them :D

So... I am done with the renders and right now there are 971 of them in total for Chapter 2. That's nearly 30% increase compared to the Introduction Chapter. How many of these will make it to final release? Can't say. I've already purged few shots (cuz of low quality) and few have been redone. Still learning about this whole scene setup business aaand I am slowly coming to a conclusion that I should change few of the maps, simply due to low resolution textures that have been used for them - but that will be resolved in the future.

Also, there are 9 scenes in total of which half are multi part ones. The biggest one will be scene 8 (over 200 renders). To put it simply, it's made for kinky content enthusiasts, swinging/sharing and a bit of exhibitionism (present in vanilla path too) :)

What else? Uhhh, there is also scene 4, similar in size to previously mentioned, with the difference it will be centered around MC, so not much controversial content there, if you don't pick the alternative option of course. Yeah non-vanilla way is shorter here, to keep the balance you know? Oh yes, scene 4 is the main story advancing one too. It will give you a lot of intel on how the game world revolves. From now on I hope to include more of the character development (both for MC and his close ones) alongside the usual porn setting, however it sounds hah.

Lastly, I've began working on dialogue and coding few days ago. Some changes have been made to the variables, so I'm not sure if the old saves will work. They should work though, SHOULD.

A few words on perception of time in The Successor.
Story overall will play out throughout a year or two of MCs lifetime. You might think, that is a lot of time and you'd be correct. Also it is here that the main issue arises. How do one keep the story consistent and condensed enough without adding a "One week later..." after each step you take. Well, after giving it a lot of though, I've decided to change the perception of time in my novel, to something way different from what we know.

The year in The Successor universe is divided by 4 months (or seasons if you will - Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter), where each again is divided by 31 days. Days are 24 hour long, although they might feel a lot longer than what they are in real world - you can safely ignore that part, it's not significant, as I'm not going to use hours for the setting of the scenes.

Okay, with that settled let me explain why exactly I felt the need to make the year more compact. I feel like this is the best way to keep the story going throughout longer period of time without bringing a lot of repetitive fillers. You know very well what I'm talking about, every sandbox game has them :) Yeah, so the year is shorter to keep you all away from empty grind and repetitive scenes. I happen to hate it too and I understand sometimes one wants to get to the porn part ASAP. Although from the storytelling point, you've got to have some fillers for consistency sake. In my opinion each and every of these should add at least a little to the story, be that by dialogue, setting of the scene or way the scenes where shot.

Don't get me wrong, but some time skips - as I will call them from now on - will still happen. Not every day of MCs life is that significant to the story and also there is the fact that jumping few days forward will allow me to bring some larger changes to the world and people, and advance the story in a bit different way. Like for example skipping menial tasks, that are not worth showing more than once but still have a significant influence on the story. I've got one of these time skips planned for upcoming updates. I hope it will be all clear when we get there :D

Okay, I think wall of text of this size is enough for today. I hope it will make it easier for you to understand what am I planning to do with this project :)

Alright, I feel like I overdid it with size of the second update. I'm about 50% in when it comes to dialogue and coding, and currently I'm sitting on about 11 000 words, that's dialogue only mind you. Also there are 2100 lines of code already.

To put it all into perspective, the initial release had like 15 500 words and 2700 lines of code.
Yep, 0.2 will also be lengthy.

On the plus side, there's only one major scene left to code, one mid-sized and three minor ones. I'm getting there.

What else have I been doing? Further revision of some of the renders for 0.2 update. There are far too many I'd want to change/redo, so only very few that have been really bothering me has been redone. Otherwise I would never be done with this release. Lessons learned though, gotta put more pressure onto scene setup in 0.3!

Next week I'm gonna drop another sneak peek and maybe just maybe some more "insider" info about about the world and its setting.

P.S. Below I've attached an example of such quick fixes. Right now I would do them even more so slightly different (the lighting especially), but that would also mean rebuilding the scene from the ground. And yeah, I've got no idea how I missed such severe clipping while setting this up...

About "avoiding drowning MC in pussy", you mentioned in your review... Well, I'm working on that and I do hope I'll come up with a good balance. In short, my plan is to give you a few types of girls. Some will have more complex and lenghty story buildup before any action with MC, while others will make for an easy lay (like Rei in 0.1). I could bring few more examples here, but it's impossible without spoiling the story. Anyway, the plan is to give most of the girls some background and in effect explain to player the reason, why do they act like they do. TL;DR there will be sluts, purdes and those in the middle.

Another thing I want to disclose today: I will be changing the renders quite significantly. How? You might ask. Well, the style will be similar to the updated banner (also attached below). There's also one shot made in the "refreshed" style in 0.2. It's more like of a visualization, so it shouldn't stand out too much.

Oh yeah, if anyone is interested, everything here is posted in .png format, while the game uses compressed .webp format, it's all to reduce the overall weight. To put it all into a perspective, uncompressed chapter 2 takes 3.5GB - without animations, compared to 470MB compressed (v. 0.2 will be approx 1.3GB in total). I've experimented with compression quality and I feel like what I've got now, gives the best balance between quality and weight. I've even accidentally overcompressed renders for 0.2, so each shot was like 30-80KB, which gave 80MB in total hah. It was a smeary mess...

Alright! Time for a quick update!

As much as I'd love to release the 0.2 in February, it doesn't seem possible at this point. I believe I said that before, but the update grew waaay too much - in terms of dialogue in particular. Currently I've got approximately 19 000 words with 7 out of 9 scenes done and according to my ROUGH estimates, the update will be done with around 23 000 words. That's 55% increase compared to the 0.1 version! If you're wondering about renders: 0.1 had about 700 of them; 0.2 has approx. 1000 - that's 43% increase. Almost forgot about the animations: 0.1 finished on 19; 0.2 will add another 44 in various paths - increase of 132%!

I don't really want to release one update per 5-6 months. To be honest one update per 3-4 months would be perfect, not sure if achievable, but still in my opinion perfect. So to get to that point, I'd need to squish the updates a bit, to 16 000 words (?) while keeping it at about 900-1000 renders - making the scenes more rewarding visually as a result, especially the lewd ones. Story wise, it's doable without losing the cohesion.

To sum it all up, the dialogue and coding is done in about 80%. After that, I've got to do some final bug testing and proofreading, and then I'll be ready for the release! First half/mid march maybe? Possibly?

I will give you more accurate date when all of the scenes are coded in :)

Getting closer to the finish line...

Though that's not what I will be talking about today. I think a little overview of the update would be in order. I will try to keep it vague, not to spoil anything important, but just to be sure, if you enjoy going into new releases/updates blind, skip this post :)

So, first of all you will get a chance to spend some quality time with Liane - the scenes will also give you some insight into her personality and relation with MC. Of course depending on the route you'll pick, you - the player - can reject her.
Few of the scenes will be focus on building up the future events, both minor and major ones. For example the talk with the twins will give you something to do on upcoming weekend (update 0.3); Akane will make sure you're not bored either... And there's big tiddy korean lady, Sun Hee, that won't let you forget about her so easily. This is not all mind you, some information you get is less obvious, mixed in with the scenography or hidden in between the lines.
This chapter will be MCs the first step into the dark side of Ryudo - not that he is aware what is he about to get into. In short it'll be the beginning of his journey through depravity. Whether he indulges in it or goes his own way, will be for you to decide.
All in all, I think this update should give you a pretty good idea of "who does what" in the game world and how some of the personas think, including the MC.

P.S. Oh yeah, also I'm thinking of making short biographies for the recurring characters. They would be posted here on SubscribeStar. That will be at least untill I think of a way (and have the time lol) to get them into the game. I'm aware there's not much information about some of the characters and the names, the surnames, the age... They all can play a role in character building.

The release date.

Great news, the update is pretty much ready! All that's left to do is to hunt for bugs and read through the dialogues few times. With that said, beta release for appropriate tiers is going to drop tomorrow (4th of march). It also means, the full public release will be one week from that date, that is 11th of March. A week should be enough for me to spot and fix anything game breaking :)

How does the update look like in numbers? Well:
Renders ~1000 (1700 in total)
Words ~ 24 500 (40 000 in total)
Animations - 44 (63 in total)
Lewd scenes - 4 + variations

What's next? I've got to sort all the stuff I have learned while working on 0.1 and 0.2 to improve on the overall quality. I will say more about my plans in one of future posts. All I can say right now is that, while working on 0.3, I will spend more time on scene setting (maps, lighting, shadows, poses, etc.), so the render quality surpasses prior updates and bonus scenes I've attached to 0.2 release. At least I hope so.

Attached below, an example of said bonus scene - it came to life as an original idea for the ending of Chapter II :)

Public release v0.2

The chapter II is officially finished and released.
What now? Well, it's time to start working on the next update that's 0.3.
Right now I'm sure I'll have to put more thought into the scenario, so the amount of scenes to render, write and code doesn't overwhelm me. I'd like to avoid situation where the work that needs to be done grows by another 40% and let's be frank, you wouldn't like to wait for like 6 months for another update :)

More specific information on the next update will be posted here in upcoming days. Expect some character previews and some non spoiler heavy info on which plot is going to be advanced.
