Well that one was short, its like 30 minutes of content. Its still kind of feels like we´re barely past prologue at this point. At least the dev is just asking for 3e which is practically nothing nowadays, so nobody can be pissed off about the lack of content(cough other creators should be ashamed)
Generally, with this one, I like to wait for every other update. CC is always pretty timely with his releases, even if they’re not “big” Being A DIK style chapters, you’re never waiting long for updates.

Keep in mind that CC released this update within 3 months (94 days actual) of the previous one with a total of 1,056 renders (~11 renders per day). With the episode being dedicated to wrapping up the first expedition for the Knight's Guild - via a fight against the bandits - there isn't much room for dialogue, which might be the primary contributor to why it felt so short.

im like 3 or 4 updates behind now this game updates pretty quickly. I'm probably gonna wait till I feel like buying it on steam that way I have alot of content when I replay the game. I don't really want to pirate this one cause how much I enjoyed it when I can buy it lol.

This felt short but at the same time it was mostly action pieces and resolving the village stuff so I'm glad I went ahead and played it.

Why not both? I am in the same boat but I just bought a Steam copy and check the updates here, I can't afford Patronage so this is the second best way to throw them some coin.

Having said that some devs do Steam release then burn out so holding back isn't always the worst decision from your back pockets viewpoint.

That may be part of it, but I think the larger problem is that this update didn't made great use of the opportunities it had.

tl;dr Advances the story well, but goes about it in an underwhelming way.

I pretty much agree with your points on this update. I felt it was very weird that there was such trouble had by the sword-bearer. He dispatched the 4 with his speed and was winded a bit after that but still fought the cyclops afterwards. I think it was a serious laps in storytelling there. Conjuring up strong enough opponents to give a special character difficulty to show growth is one thing, but arbitrarily hamstringing him with no explanation against "normal" opponents made no sense at all.

I think a better way to handle it would have been for his companions to have to leave him to fight the cyclops solo because they had to split off to help save more villagers. Sometimes the hardest difficulty in being a hero is not fighting the enemy but being in enough places at the same time. I think the dev tried to convey that somewhat poorly (as you mentioned).

I love this avn but youre right with all of your points, everything could have been a liiiitttle bit more coherent/logical/dynamic. I agree esp about the choices, the other choice (dropping your sword) was kinda a weird one too.

Villagers are getting slaughtered left and right and the mc makes a big scene to brawl a bandit dumbfuck after he disarmed him instead of just killing him quickly :ROFLMAO:

Like is that supposed to be honorable or something? real man one on one while everyone around you gets slaughtered?

And than, both without weapons the MC suddenly is HYPER superior against the bandit while he somewhat struggled when they both had their swords (mind you, hes the swordbearer).

So yeah this was a lot of powerscaling rollercoaster but i kinda dont mind it this much in this title as the avn doesnt take itself too seriously, maybe just imagine everyone fought three bandits if it helps

Or its just like a bit of dragonball, the crew has to power up to be at full strenght and you know, energy is sometimes depleted and stuff :HideThePain:

Besides the things ename144 mentioned villains here were too over the top. Killing everyone (or most) villagers makes no sense because they lose a chicken laying eggs and for what? What's funnier, they were even ignoring our mercenaries and killing for the sake of killing. And this typical "I love it when people beg before I kill them", ugh. Not to mention that I would think degenerates would prefer to rape a beautiful woman instead of killing her (especially in a porn game).

So yeah, this update wasn't too good. It wasn't awful or anything and it did move the plot forward but the execution leaves a lot to be desired.

Updated my compressed Android port of The Swordbearer with Koga3's walkthrough mod to v0.10.

Got some basic gestures loaded in: swipe up for save menu, swipe down to hide UI, swipe left to rollback and swipe right to skip. Save files are now stored in the Documents folder. This sometimes means that you may need to close and re-open the port after installing so the save folder is properly created.

Please let me know if you encounter any issues with the port and I'll see what I can do to get them sorted.

One of the gripes about this avn that I have is the MC has so little screen time(comparatively), the amount of yapping that happens behind his back is crazy.

Nah i actually like that the world seems bigger and that there are other meaningful characters than just the MC and his LI's, makes the world feel more real and less empty

Well im maybe biased, i could read a whole avn about ivar and the king :ROFLMAO:

It's quite interesting seeing the reactions for the latest update. While I do agree that the pacing wasn't as fluid as it could have been, I very much enjoyed seeing some maturity from the main 3 as well as the realisation that they can't save everyone. For awhile, people have criticised the MC of being a bit of a joker and being too light-hearted...well, here's the change. Using what he's learned and pushing himself.

Showing the other groups was, imo, a nice touch and a way to show the camraderie between them. This has always been more of a slow burning AVN and hopefully the feedback given helps CC for future updates
