Hey guys, just wanted to get my thoughts out, fyi im not coming from any sort of negative pov, I'm just simply curious and want to get your views.

Does anyone else share my views as to the pace of the story being extremely slow? I dont mean the number of sex scenes and lewd content, not at all! (Although that could use a bump as well lol), its probably been more than 4 years and MC is still kind of a weakling as far as being a swordbearer. I'm pretty sure he is going to visit riverfell again to interact with the love interests there and we havent got any hint of that happening anytime soon. So most probably the game is only around 20-25% done i think.
Coz the amount of love interests are too high in the game as well, and even getting involved with them takes significant amount of time (Evidenced by Lyra's sex scene), so i can only imagine how long it would take to get closer with soo many LIs.
Just a thought, let me hear your views.

Yeah, i agree with you. Although, I dont think the game is 30% completed, coz if it is then it's actually not good. We are yet to progress significantly on the romance side with any love interest yet, with maybe the exception of Lyra.

I think, it is very difficult to say if the game has progressed X amount of % , next romance path is the one with the "Princess" (if any) we had a lot of delay, due to shit happens in real life, so it is very difficult to say how much content has been shown.
Regarding the lack or the slowpace of the VN in general, I'm quite thorn;
on one hand I like that MC is not the "Supergigamega Chad" and we can follow his evolution, on the other hand, I'd liked to see more lore and development of the backgrounds of div characters, but I'm happy that CC continues to deliver quality content from my point of view.

Though i think you misunderstood me, I dont care for slow updates much, ik IRL shit can happen. But i do care about the pace of the story, the game is quite big right now already, i havent counted exactly but it took me quite a lot of hours to finish, still...idk why but i get this feeling as the story hasnt moved much ahead.

The logic behind my estimation stems from assuming the village quest serves as Act I's climax with Amaris' return serving as the inciting incident (rather bizarrely).

The return to Riverfell will most likely serve as the transition into Act II as we resolve several subplots from Act I. There are still a few that were already set up that have yet to be resolved, but CC has probably hit his limit of active subplots to make room for new ones (i.e. Talitha in Stormguard, Esther's heritage, Naveah's curse, etc.).

Of the love interests and side interests Lyra is the only one whose seen substantial development. We have spent time with Talitha in the early stages, but she's been absent since Chapter 4 onwards. Esther has also seen some development but the only significant development with her is in Chapter 11 when she learned of heritage (a romance flag also gets set here as well). Luneira sits in a wierd place as well considering our lack of interaction with her, which the MC ironically points out in Chapter 11 as well.

The bigger issue is the relationships developed in Riverfell with Arina, Samira, Lanya, and Carmine. Carmine is rather straigthforward in how her relationship will develope (i.e. bringing her daughter back), but Arina, Samira, and Lanya had even less development than Talitha prior to leaving for Stormguard. If CC plans on keeping the same pacing to develop their relationships then it seems plausible that the next 3-5 chapters will be relegated to Riverfell with the midpoint probably taking place back in Stormguard (perhaps returning to a city under siege?).

Wtf are you talking about he did explain it several months ago why he would be absent ,he really needs you to start calling it abandoned to help matters. This dev hardly got any patreon's compared other vn's so I hope he get's more from steam yet even when it does drop it's only $3 to get it on the day of release cheaper than dlc you get elsewhere. If you feel like calling a game abandoned there are plenty of other threads to vent on especially one with his cultists

I used to 5 years ago or so. Literature is a rather complex field that encompasses more than just writing novels, but also screenplays, poems, short stories, and various subsets of each. For me personally it was a harder subject to learn than almost anything I learned for engineering, especially when dealing with literature that heavily layered metaphors or densely packed subplots.

I think, the extremely slow update pace, in combination with the arguably low amount of content delivered in said updates, creates the illusion of extremely slow story pace.

IMO, the pacing before they arrived at the kingdom was a bit slow, but I think it was worth it to get the kind of introduction we did to the setting, the characters, their backgrounds, relationships, typical interactions etc. However, after they arrived, I think the pacing has been steadily picking up speed (maybe even a bit too much speed).

Just wanted to give everyone here a heads up that moving forward I won't be uploading Patreon updates (change in work schedule has absolutely fucked me). Keep that in mind when posting to this thread wondering if the game is still in development, it most certainly is as far as I can tell.

Checked this out on a whim - not bad! Writing is a bit eh but I like the overall world and direction - though man, it took awhile for some action and cool stuff to start happening. I felt like getting outta Riverfell ate up too much of the early episodes.

I have to agree. Once we left Riverfell it seemed to get going. Now we're about to head back to Riverfell, I'm a little worried that we'll lose momentum. Fingers crossed we don't.

I think once the group gets back to their village, a big attack on the village will happen at some point and some characters may die like the blacksmith. Fantasy writers tend to attack the MC's home,village,base etc when they want to encourage character and plot development.

Think it'll push the story forward quite a bit, maybe a Li will die, though I doubt the dev will take a risk like that, but who knows.
