Hi everyone. To start off, I'll get the game relevant stuff out of the way first. The next update is going to be a double episode and I'm aiming for ~2000 renders. I'm over 1000 right now and probably need to do around 500 more to meet my base render goal. If the story requires me, I'll add more. The double episode will be out mid this month or a little earlier. Payments are paused for the near future.
Now for the non game related parts. I'll try to keep it as brief as possible.
I started this project as something fun to do. I didn't even expect one person to play. I'm not a developer, I'm not a writer. I'm just a guy who wanted to do something fun. While I was very happy it grew the way it did, it soon got out of control for me. I'm a major introvert. All of a sudden I was dealing with message spams , email spam about the game. A lot of it was positive. But a lot of it was hostile and too much to deal with for someone like me. Taking on something this size (i know its not huge but it is for me) got to me mentally and I had to get professional help. I've been getting some for almost a year now and I'm working on it. I had too much anxiety around the game. It would just snowball along with guilt because I know how supportive all of you are and this would just cause panic around development.
Development isn't going to stop. But the longer I take money from you, the more guilt I'll feel and the more I'll have these attacks while working on the game. I can’t, in good conscience, keep taking money from you at least while I'm working through these issues. Plus I feel like I'll work better knowing you haven't spent your hard earned money to support me. Which is why I've made the decision to pause payments for a while. It could be a few months. Now that I'm back home, I can manage since everything is relatively cheap. I'm really sorry about the state of things. I thought I could overcome what I was dealing with months ago but I'm not there yet. Starting today, payments will be paused until I deal with my issues. If you're a subscriber, you will still have access to the game and all the updates even though payments are paused. I'll resume payments once I feel like I've earned your support. I'll update all of you as much as I can while I fix my head.
