You extract the downloaded file to its own folder, and move that folder to somewhere different from where you downloaded. Ideally a different drive entirely, then you run the game from the corresponding icon in the folder, just as you would any other software.

SaddogGames and this game deserve to be supported... and the fact that he wants money is total right and it's not at all true that he made an update after 2 years because he wants money...
in any case money is given to people who write stories you like and it doesn't matter if the next update is tomorrow or in a year... The story is good and you can play it as many times as you like

Before he burned up most people's good will toward him, his issues and this game, many would have agreed with you.
I would have agreed with you, but he broke too many promises to his supporters, and even created that shady-as-fuck £500 tier on his Patreon.
He has earned people's distrust, and just when it was looking like he'd be on the road to again earning respect, he went and did what some here have interpreted as the same as what he's done many times before.

If you have the opportunity, tell him to stop setting update dates. Why not say something like, "The update is almost ready. If there are no cataclysms, then you will receive it this year".
I've been thinking all month, what if something happened to him? I'm serious! Have you seen what's going on in the world?

That's another thing that's been consistent in the past - Having an active account here that's been regularly used all throughout the development of this game (and shortly after his previous game appeared here). That includes the two or three times where there was nothing new at all (here or Patreon) and the game being marked Abandoned here, including the over two year stint of the last occaision.
Ultimately, don't get your hopes up but try not to just turn into another hater.

I wonder why so many devs are still getting paid even after breaking multiple promises and treating them as nothing more than a money source, guess you are one of the 500$ fans? this game was decent for its times, but now there are many more games that are better instead of No Sense FMC, sure I like the game since it was one of the first renpy games I played. Still, you will just keep simping to devs no matter what happens, I wasn't one of his patreons I just told you what the dev's character is, and how untrustworthy he is, but you being a so offended that his reputation being hurt because you can wait for small updates for 3 years or more and say "it's the devs choice he can what he wants" sure he can do what he wants. I can have my own opinion and not to have to worry about every snowflake getting offended instead of the dev.

Where do these clowns come from? you come to a pirate site and complain about people getting free stuff, this site is what promotes the devs the best, we can have conversations and understand whether to support the dev or not, and looking at his past behavior most sane people would not, while you are the type to support the devs till the end and even thank the dev for allowing you to his white knight, does not make it right to say my opinion or this forum's opinion is wrong. I have supported 5 devs in this site because they are transparent and give good updates worth the time. You waiting for another 5 years to get an image might satisfy you because it is what you are.

Whilst they get some new/returning supporters, they don't get anywhere near enough to substantiate that claim, and that's from various devs who come here themselves.

How many devs come to this site for publicity and to get more fans and recognition is quite a lot, they lose fans when they stop providing output according to the fans is quite common, I mean look at many famous games all have lots of comments which means there are more fans, smaller less known dev's will need to take the risk to gain a reputation for support from a game. Where else will they get more supporters other than steam?
