Remember not all of us are in America where they put 21 on everything. Some of us are in the UK where 16 is the age limit and some countries are younger than that.

Not to be rude, but what does it matter? Did I mention the UK in my post? I'm not from the US either, and 17 is underage where I'm from as well.

What he said. Since this is essentially porn the age of consent in various countries isn't all that relevant.
Let's just stick a disclaimer on it that everyone is of legal age, even if they don't look the part, and move on.

Those are mostly Japanese, where different laws and standards apply. For the western market they usually either change the content or alter the backstory, so the 12 year old looking girl is actually an ancient spirit or some such.

Either way, nobody was going crazy. Some people had a short discussion about age of consent, then the game's dev chimed in and we all moved on.

The mother married the MC's father and had a daughter of her own before the marriage. There is no blood relation between the MC women.

To be fair to the MC looking like a scumbag, welcome to nearly all games with a male MC. The only difference between various male MC's in different games is the age, a lot of them act/look like scumbags.
