I should probably not waste my time responding to this but no, obviously it isn't another version of that (which I've always hated, btw). It's math: think of how much more content you would have now if that time and effort would have not gone towards something that like 5% of the userbase uses. (and NOT because is a female PoV, don't misunderstand me (plenty of good games like that), but because I don't think it fits this particular game.. it's like he tried to squeeze it in there).
bye
What you're saying I think proves my point. The developer is working on an aspect of the story that isn't everyone's particular brand of scotch, and that comes with an opportunity cost (the developer is spending time on aspects of the story I don't enjoy!! Waaaah!!). The folks who complain about NTR that's avoidable is a pretty clear example of this . . . why are you complaining about something that you'll never see? Because it slows down the development of the things you do want to see. You see this kind of discussion on tons of threads here . . . developer spends time on a storyline with character X but not on character Y, and that upsets me because I don't like character X (and I should ALWAYS get my way when it comes to the development of a project where I am making no contribution to move the project forward)
You quote a number of 5%, but let's be honest with each other and observe that it's a number you are just pulling out of your backside to help "prove" the point you think you're proving. The comment of "it doesn't fit the story" is just your opinion, and I'd say that particular argument is betrayed by the fact that there are plenty of folks (if the comment history on this board is any indication) who like the female MC route very much. That population is large enough (as far as the developer is concerned) that a decision has been made to provide content for that route. I for one stand up for that choice even if I'm not making it myself.
So yeah, I get that you "honestly doubt" whether the time that is spent on the female MC route is worth the time that is taken from developing the male MC route, and that's totally fine with me that you have that subjective opinion. Just take a minute to recognize that your assessment isn't necessarily supported by evidence and that you might just be substituting your own perspective for an objective reality.
