The Zone continues to deliver today, first the thread about the most obnoxious people, now this
What I never understood was people who need someone's opinion before trying a game. They read ratings, ask in game threads "should I play this?" What are you afraid of, gamer? It's not like you can get the disease X by starting a game that caught your attention and finding out that you don't like (yeah, tags don't always help) It's a fucking matter of minutes, you'll spend more time reading reviews or waiting for an answer in a thread.
Ratings, if they are useful to anyone, are probably for developers to gauge public reaction to an initial release or some unexpected plot twist. As a player, why the hell do I need to know the opinion of some random dude who probably hates with all his heart the games I love. Hell, half the games I like and follow have an overall rating of 3-3.5 stars, how is that supposed to invalidate my own experience and make those games any less to me?
But it seems that the topic starter is not complaining about this, but about the fact that he is not allowed to punish developers with low ratings for the fact that their content or work ethics does not meet his expectations. And the funniest thing is that now he's complaining about the Zone for the same thing!
Well, personally I'm glad that there are rules that don't allow turning a review into a cesspool containing only a description of the revewer's whims, which the game doesn't meet, and insults to the developer. Moreover, nothing prevents you from writing a 1-star review, in which you can say whatever you want, while following the rules. You just need to put in a minimum of effort, however, no more than to pass a captcha.
If you think the developer is a milker, well, write how exactly this affects the game - the advertised and teased lewd scenes are not added, the plotlines do not develop, the characters remain cardboard and boring, the frequency and number of updates do not match the developer's promises.
Or is all you're complaining about is that the game isn't updated as often as you'd like and that's why the developer is a milker? And it's definitely not related to the fact that, for example, this is a side project or hobby for them, which they work on in their free time from their full time job.
Oh, fuck this, I missed the poll but my belated vote is for Lerd0.
