The game is free after 2 weeks. That period of exclusivity is what makes the project sustainable. Without it, there would be no updates for anyone. The 200+ patrons who support the game understand this perfectly.

You're obviously right but virtually no dev is ready for that conversation yet (and probably never will be). So it's not worth it to even discuss it imho.

And there is a reason that game journos pump out piles of articles whenever an indie dev says something of the sort (

Of course there are games that fail, what a moronic rebuttal. The question is whether increased anti-piracy measures would help them be successful. Look at the failed games that come to mind for you and ask yourself: would them launching with Denuvo have made them a success?

While we can never know for sure, I very much doubt there is even one example like that.
