Around this time exactly one year ago, I began assembling the first demo version of the game that later went into release (all the early alphas and betas were made since late August). Since then, we’ve come a long way together - about 15 updates so far. And there’s more to come.
Right now I’m working on two updates at the same time: v0.26 and something like v0.xx.
What does v0.xx mean?
The numbered update (0.26) will be released as scheduled, and the xx update will be included in a regular release once it’s ready.
In this "xx" branch, I’ve started remastering old scenes. Some scenes will also receive expansions. I'm not touching story content or code outside the scenes, so this won’t affect gameplay.
When will it be finished?
That’s a tricky question, because some of the oldest scenes require almost a complete art replacement - and based on experience, that takes much longer than I’d like, around 3-4 full days per scene.
Right now I’m extremely short on time (I’ll explain why below), so I can only redo no more than 2 scenes per month.
At that pace, all the planned scenes will be remastered in around 3-4 months, and then uploaded as one big batch (most likely in v0.30).
Since I’ve also planned a lot of fixes, sound additions, etc. specifically for v0.30, that update is going to be huge - so huge that it probably won’t fit into the usual development cycle.
So most likely, after the release of v0.29 (around February), the game will go into “maintenance mode” for about two months.
I hope it will be worth it - and don’t worry, you won’t be left without content. Here’s why:
I already have assets, the text part of the prologue, and part of the logic ready for the parallel project I announced a few months ago.
It will differ from Three and One in concept, but will have a similar visual style.
To assemble a working demo and show it to you, I’ll need about five days - but I’ll work on that only after Three and One v0.26.
So expect it in the second half of November.
Three and One remains my top priority until the end of development.
The second project will receive updates gradually, as material accumulates (its format will allow that).
Sorry for the long post.
For everyone who managed to read this far - here’s a little challenge: guess who the girls in the picture are cosplaying.
Whoever posts the correct answer in the comments (on Patreon) - I’ll send a private link tomorrow with several another arts of the girls.
Once again - Happy Halloween, and thank you for your support!
