VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Through Spacetime [Final] [Empiric]

Through Spacetime is a simple game whose only purpose is the provide a backdrop for the lewd scenes. Nothing clever is done with its premise other than to create lewd scenes, so...turn your brain off for this one, guys.

The story is simple enough, if illogical, but sets up the Ultimate Cosmic Harem. The MC being the only Man in the universe. This however falls short several times in the story as dialog, the way women behave and dress, often fails to assume that this character is the only man. A lot of dialogue opportunities are missed of a woman who has never interacted with a man before. But, the premise doesn't exist for story purposes. It only exists to put you as the one Man in a Galactic Harem, so turn your brain off.

The character models are good but not up to the standards of some of the more visually stunning games out there, and the plot, while silly, is original. Not much to say about either. Sex in space is the goal. Everything else is a backdrop. Turn your brain off.

The major thing I struggled with in the effort to press the mouse to continue the story is that it's a shame that the last Man in the universe is also one of the dumbest that ever lived. This guy is so stupid he can't be taken seriously. Same is true if it's supposed to come across as funny because he so stupid I cringed instead of laughed at his asinine statements. I guess the last Man is one of the Three Stooges. The story has to be carried by the supporting cast because the MC is so inept (he even has a blank, dumb stare), that he cannot possibly drive a storyline. In the scenes where things are happening and he is present...he is just present. He contributes nothing to any scenes apart from making dumb comments and being the Man in lewd scenes. If he were more formidable, the game would be so much more immersive and interesting.

His inability to plan, think, or reason makes him perfect though for a characters who's single and only purpose and contribution to the game or story is to move from one sex scene to the other. He's not a character with strengths, flaws, goals, and personality. He's just an erection with legs. So I guess in that regard, he's fine.

Don't think about it to much. The lewd scenes are great. This game is best played with frequent use of the Skip button since little of the dialogue will hold your attention. There is a story there, but you are so disconnected from it because of the mannequin of an MC that it's hard for it to matter. A game like this needs to have an MC you can empathize and connect with. Not a moron passing blankly from scene to scene, not comprehending what is going on around him. I feel the same way about the story, though for me its not comprehension. It's that I don't care because he doesn't care. That's not a good combo for a VN.

The story and plot is thin but there is one. It seems as though the writer doesn't really care about the story because you feel as disconnected from it as the MS. It's just a backdrop to stage the lewd scenes after all. If the MC were clever, formidable, personable, interesting, curious...something...the game would be much, much better. Imagine Farscape with a moronic, disconnected John Crichton. The stories wouldn't matter because the protagonist is the just there to watch them happen. The show wouldn't have lasted a season.

Lewd scenes are often and mostly good (though all of them dispassionate and unimportant). Other than that, the game will do little to keep you engaged.

I played the game today for the first time and here's my two cents:
The renders are good, the women are beautiful and have a very nice variety of characters and appearances/body types.
The Story is interesting enough, the writing has some genuine humour.
What I didn't like that much was the writing in the sex scenes, it was basically nonexistent, apart from the spoken dialogue.
That isn't enough for me, I need more than just porn images, to find it really sensual/ erotic.
In general the writing is a bit sparse, it's not so much that it reads like it's written by someone where English isn't his first language, it's just that it is just the basics really. No flourish, no elegance. It isn't bad, it's just not enough, at least for me.
This could be a really great game, it has the looks, it has a workable halfway original story (which is a lot by the standards in erotic Western VNs), it just needs a bit more oomph in writing and in the sex scenes.
I mean, some of the girls love the MC, but apart from saying they love him, it seems like they just want sex, there's no real romance, no closeness, nothing apart from sex basically.
The situation in the world and what is happening gets told, but that's about it, the MC barely has any questions, none of the women are fe. afraid of this completely unknown creature, a human male, you'd expect there'd be more shock among the crew, more shock from the MC when he hears it.
Once the crew knows about MC's pheromones, would some of them take care not to get to close to him?
IDK, the story is just full of these things, where it feels a lot more should happen, a lot more interaction should happen.
Don't get me wrong, it is an enjoyable game, it just feels like it could be so much more.

Renders are good, the beggining of the game is good, it almost sucks me in. The building thing was good, and readable and seemed important. It was kind of predictable where this was gonna end, but didnt expect it this way.

The game should be at least 5 times longer, Mcs dick could be cut in half and multiply sex scenes duration and character introductions, by 2, at least.

And also make him last more than a couple of thrusts or strokes, sometimes its silly how fast he cums. And of course you go to another girl right after the previous one, and the same happens, you barely know who she is and for whatever reason you have some sex stuff and after 5 renders he cums and repeats the process.

It turns senseless, and the virtual clone or whatever was just the fatality that destroyed the rest of the gmae for me.

In General this is a game that's worth playing for it's varied models and good renders.

The scenes are well lit, models very beautiful and while the scenery is not enormously detailed it still manages to keep the sci-fi vibe going nicely.

Game-play: 3/5
The Game is stable, there are no problems saving or anything of the sort and some choices. However the choices mainly extend to playing or not playing certain sex scenes, so there is not a lot of variability here.

Plot: 5/5
The Plot is well thought through and even though not all elements are new or unique it is generally entertaining.

Writing: 2/5
Personally I feel this game might benefit from an writer looking over particularly the beginning of the game. There are some minor typos, but what bothers me is mainly the naivety of some of the main characters as well as how flat most of them are. While they all have an interesting backstory to uncover, the game doesn't make the MC work for that like it would happen in a normal human relationship. They all just flat out tell the MC all their deepest thoughts and worries the first chance they get. Improving this could in my Opinion make the game truly great.

Writing is good. It grabs you and pulls you in. Even though the MC is as dumb as a sack of hammers.

Renders are pretty good also. The girls are pretty hot.

The bad to this is due to myself. I don't share my girls with anyone. Not even with a VR dupe of myself.

I will not trash the game or the dev over this. It's worth playing. I'll just wish him well and move on.

So good renders and very nice artwork. Fully cared GUI environment. Use different camera angles that enrich the narration. Well designed characters. Well designed environment.
Well told history.
Correct rhythm in the narration, and very dynamic.
I miss "rape" a little more, but that's a matter of taste.

Heh, this is a better VN than what it appears to be at first glance. The first episode is a bit of a flop. A short segway into how he ends up in that pod at the beginning would have been cool. It's a bit of an abrupt start to the journey. You go around and meet and bang some of the crew members. The sex scenes are incredibly short and lacking at first. The initial plot set up and tone kind of pointed towards a last stand of a man against the feminist overlords (which I thought would actually be pretty funny lol).

Anyways, as you get into the second episode and beyond, the plot picks up quite a bit and we begin to see that the game isn't all about mindless romping though space. There is actually a plot brewing and the characters do have some depth which wasn't apparent at first glance.

It's not high art or incredibly epic storytelling, but the game starts to form into a decent little space opera with nice bits of humor thrown in. I found myself laughing during some of the scenes and plot developments. At the risk of sounding like a snob, I think my sense of humor is quite refined.

I mentioned the very lackluster scenes on the first episode, but it really seems like the dev is improving in this regard. We got some longer scenes with decent sex dialogues, so there is something to work with here if they refine it a bit.

Quite the entertaining VN. The story is good, and the characters are well developed. The amount of sexy women is nice. I hope there will be more introduced in future updates. The dev has put a lot into creating this. I highly recommend giving it a play through. Keep up the great work.

actually read/enjoy the story. great pacing in the context of it being a sex game. dialogue actually feels relevant to the sex scenes and not just something to get thru. love the content and character/story dynamics. really promising. even for a first version feels satisfying. looking forward to complete game

Wow. This is a great game. Let me break it down. First off, love the setup for this story. With your OC being on a spaceship and picked up by a group of explorers, this opens up tons of unique and interesting situations. You can find a planet of plant women who are struggling to survive because of their limited gene diversity. A planet of amazons who are constantly at war with each other (This could even be played as a way to clue in the audience that the future is not perfect) . So many opportunities not even including the main crew.

Though my favorite part had to be the end with the mysterious alien. We don't know her backstory yet even with the picture perfect spaceship with all the crew members getting along and humanity in a golden age, their was always a feeling of unease. The way crew members described how Earth was united in only two years with no conflict just felt fishy.

The only reason I am not giving 5 star is because it it clearly a game in development. To the author, I hope you give us the audience small clues about what is really going on in the galaxy to reward players who are patient enough to read the dialogue.
