I understood the idea perfectly and do not criticize the game and you as a developer, I am simply upset that at first they showed me a tasty carrot and then took it away and forcibly slipped me a rotten one). This is partially true. I addressed this a while back, but romance and family are key pillars of Tides. I appreciate there are a small minority out there who don't want to romance any of the LIs and just want to experience the story without the romance. However, I've designed them to go hand-in-hand, and the story just wouldn't be the same without the romance. Thus, there is no "monk" path in Tides where you can reject all the LIs.
Now, the reason why you're forced to romance Glade is because she's the last one you can decline. I notice there is some confusion with regards to rejecting her, and then being forced to romance her anyway, and perhaps I should try and make this more clear in game. When you say no to Glade just after you capture her, you aren't rejecting her as a Love Interest, but as an ally. You can still romance Glade regardless of whether or not you reject her offer.
Hopefully this clears it up a bit. I'm afraid that if you don't like any of the LIs, then Tides probably isn't the game for you which is perfectly fine because everyone has different tastes![]()
Yeah I would of much rather lost the throuple path over yandereSo just found we are losing the yandere path, which is sad, cause it would of been one of the more interesting paths.
I understand the decision, and it will make the game easier to complete and can dive just as deep if not deeper on some paths, since less branching, but I will always feel a bit sad of what we lost, because of how interesting those yandere scenes could of played out.
I'm pretty gutted over losing routes in general but if it helps him develop then so be it. Sometimes you just wanna tell a story and adding too much complexity gets in the way.Yeah I would of much rather lost the throuple path over yandere
Yeah I mean not a big deal anyways to me yeah I would of loved it but it would of been the last path I played anyways besides the throuple most likely. So if it's better for him to make the game all the better.I'm pretty gutted over losing routes in general but if it helps him develop then so be it. Fuuuck that sucks, I've recently found the time to get back into VNs and just see this newsSo just found we are losing the yandere path, which is sad, cause it would of been one of the more interesting paths.

That was a very interesting read! It would be nice to see both Kasula and Glade's thought process as wellCaptain's Log 3:18Progress:

Hi Pixillin', it is a bug. I only discovered it very recently and it's been fixed. As the next update is right around the corner, I decided not to release a patch for it.I'm confused. I'm not on Lorelai's path, the betrothal was rejected but now for some reason we're in a bedroom, and she's talking about getting used to sharing a room and producing an heir?? With zero build up to that??
Edit: Yeah I'm going to have to stop, at least for now until things are cleared up. I never really liked Lorelai. I liked Elva a lot, and that kinda set the tone for things. After she was killed/abducted ... whatever happened to her I was a bit angry. So Glad never had a chance. I shot her down immediately in part because of her role - it may not have been willing, but she was still involved so I wouldn't have added her to the crew if it had been a choice. And I turned on Hernicus hard for his role - if he had been honest, we might have been better prepared so he's in the dungeons. But Kasila I liked a lot and was happily on her route and we were talking about travelling and exploring and now I'm suddenly betrothed to Lorelai again, without any discussion of that, or any build up, or anyone even telling me. So, I'm going to pause the game for the time being until I understand better. If I'm suddenly back on Lorelai's path, automatically then I'm done the game but I'm assuming that there's something I missed or there was some kind of bug?
Cool, and thanks very much for taking the time. That's what I'm going for. I've had a look around and decided that a) Exploring with Kasula sounds way more fun (and safer) than taking the crown b) That I'm not really interested in any of the Lis (that haven't been abducted) and c) I'm not even sure about the whole lordship thing, but I'm pretty sure the fisherman that Kasula tried to tallk to on the docks is going to be my court advisor. (So still a pirate at heart I guess.)Hi Pixillin', it is a bug. I only discovered it very recently and it's been fixed. As the next update is right around the corner, I decided not to release a patch for it.
To be clear, you cannot reject the betrothal if you're on King Lovell's Allegiance Path (which it seems like you are). You are however, allowed to reject sharing a room with Lorelei and your betrothal to her will be entirely political if you do that. You'll then be able to go on Kasula's path and explore the world together.
If you don't want to be betrothed to Lorelei at all and you don't want to ally with Henricus or Glade, I'd suggest going after the Will Allegiance Path. To get on the Will Allegiance Path, you need to reject Glade's offer, tell Will everything and then decline the King's offer of allegiance when he offers it. Then, you won't end up becoming betrothed to Lorelei.
This is indeed a very good and wise decision (something where many devs in the fantasy genre fail in the end). Because resources in development (mainly time) are always limited and the more branches there are, the less content there will be per branch. It's always about a good compromise.I decided to remove a bunch of branching. This meant that I had to remove approximately 800 renders that I've already done, which absolutely sucks, but it does mean that I have a lot less future work to do as I now have less branches to worry about.
