You did a wonderful work with this VN. I had some doubts back when I played release 1.5 because I was afraid that it would end in something way too complicated with way too many paths, but with your walkthrough and the different allegiances seen in the game, I now find it somewhat clear how my different paths will be going forward.

But what strikes me the most are the quality of the renders and the writing. The facial expressions are just incredible, rarely seen anywhere else, you have the talent to perfectly illustrates a face going from one mood to another, and again, it’s something rarely seen anywhere else and highly appreciated because I guess it takes a shitload of work to render those. As for the writing, it’s a perfect balance, not too many words, not too little, and THANK GOD THERE IS NO F*CKING INTERNAL MONOLOGUE FOR ONCE! I also really enjoy the playful banters between the protagonists, I often smile or even laugh while reading them.

My only complaint is about your soft-core approach for the lewd scenes. I read the reasoning behind it (thanks Milton for the screenshot) but I disagree with it because, unlike the renders, the animations are of average quality and far from arousing, they feel somewhat bland, not immersive. Sorry to be so blunt but that’s my own opinion and that’s the only thing I'm not fond of in your AVN. Fortunately the story, renders and dialogues make it up for it.


PS: Lorelei is a goddamn beauty! I’ll keep her to myself, no other player is allowed to romance her

The only thing that is consistently "bad" in the renders is that the eyes always reflect the square DAZ lightsource, it's very apparent until atleast you take the elf to the king, haven't seen more since bugs keeping me from advancing.
But it will be interesting to see how the "default" gf Glade will work out.

Bold move Cotton! Regardless of the outcome the poll, the lewd scenes - in my opinon - are only a bonus to the overall story. There's a couple of projects on this forum that have no sexual content at all and manage to captivate a crowd (not that I'm suggesting you do that since I enjoyed the softcore scenes regardless).

same while I haven't played it yet I saw a few screenshots and I really like what I saw from the soft core cause it has a different tone and feel that and it feels like the dev's style. I mean I will admit when I heard about the softcore I had mixed feeling and still do , since I haven't played it yet.

As on one hand I want to see certain poses and angles or animations since I love the character models but some of the renders Ive seen posted has a more romantic feeling to it which I love. As I find alot of lewd scenes in games for me it's hard to have that romantic feeling to the sex , as usually I find the romance is more on context and build up and not the sex.

So I kind of hope if it gets changed it up either Tak does both ( which would probably be to much extra work for him) or maybe a hybrid with some scenes will be softcore and others won't be. Or even part of the scene could be softcore and other parts won't be. Both of these options to me sounds like a good compromise if he does decide to change it up.

I voted for making them less softcore, but only because I think it will open Tak up to more players and patrons. I have no problem with how they're done now. I know what's happening, I don't have to actually see it. But I do think, that there is people that will stop playing without them. Whether they are the paying customers or pirates I don't know.

Yeah if im being real sex is the part I care about the least about in any AVN unless it happens to be one of the rare ones I do play for the porn. I prefer either story or just non sexual character interactions I find them more enjoyable than sex. Only reason for me to even want to see certain poses is cause I just would love to see cause I like the models / character but don't care if I do see it just would like to.

Well in some cases sex is integral to the story, I can't list examples because of the rules but this isn't on of those games.

While it was understandable that the most vocal people on this thread are hardcore vanilla lovers and you guys would love for things to remain softcore, the point MiltonPowers made is absolutely crucial.
Sex sells, it is what it is, game development is not cheap, it costs a lot of money. Assets, music, sounds, even as minor things as designing logos cost a lot if done from a third party.
Having explicit scenes is going to bring in a larger audience and higher revenue to support the development further. The game is planned to be a 3 part series, to sustain development for such a long period, it is a sensible decision to target a broader audience than the minority of pure vanilla fans.
