I thought about this, too. It's objectively grotesque, but it's done to manifest the power of unhinged lust and need I guess, to illustrate this state. Tifa is so easily manipulated because she just needs the slightest excuse for her urge. The characters are catapulted outside of common sense. It's a bit as if the plot is as exaggerated as the tits and cocks of the protagonists. in so far the visuals and the plot actually fit together better than otherwise., both are in style so to speak. Therefore I enjoy the dialogue and esp the hilarious inner thoughts of the protags in this game just because it's a bit off the track in this very sense. Plus it's exciting for some people to see a girl (which values kindness normally) being totally mean in order to get what she so urgently wants right now, and showing that needs a punching ball like Cloud. Her meanness because of the power of sex over her appears the greater the dumber and the more naive Cloud appears.
I am no AVN dev but I've always presumed that the NTR games that have the MC be particularly pathetic or naive is a very deliberate decision. Players aren't going to overly invest or overly project themselves into an MC like that. Instead they're gleefully going to watch the woman descend into an absolute slut every chance they get and are not going to feel sorry for an idiot like Cloud. It also has the added bonus that anyone into humiliation will project on to the MC. So win-win.
It can be quite entertaining to watch the humiliation of the simp and also opens up much more lewd erotic scenes with the girls and the "bad boys". Vanilla relationship only sex would be boring AF IMHO.
That's the mentality that has me enjoy dark themes in media now, "this media would be boring af without the dark stuff happening hence i wouldn't be playing or watching it".
