The "uber nerds" comment (really, "biggest of uber nerds") is the CRUX of your argument. You mention nothing about "many people" or "people like Juli".

If you didn't mean to say "nobody but the biggest of uber nerds were touching the internet in the mid-90s", you did a poor job saying it. Because that is exactly what you said.
if you meant to say "not many people were using the internet back then, certainly not on Commodore 64s, so I find it hard to believe that Juli would", then you should have said that.
Also - different timeline from us. The internet may have sprung up earlier over there. We've got Commodore 64s in the same place as SNES posters - things aren't the same.
