Only a limited number of the M-14's were equipped with a selector for Automatic Fire. Normally there were only 2 in a Marine Corps Infantry Platoon, and were mainly used for Suppression Fire in Auto Mode! It was also a hell of a lot easier to control than the B.A.R.!
