If ever there was a game in need of a Ren'Py remake, this one is it.
Honestly, I find UNITY a bit frustrating, since it usually involves too much
clicking, therefore it ruins the enjoyment of the game.
In terms of visual novels, Ren'Py is better suited.

I agree and disagree. It depends on the format of the gameplay and how important that gameplay is. In the case of TWTGM (Tomie Wants To Get Married) The random element and the whole diceplay (or energy based play depending on the mode you pick) are a big part of the gameplay of the original game as it means as a player you do have to be very thoughtful with your actions as you have limited energy to do stuff every day so you have to think what do you want to spend your time doing. It makes it a really great life sim style game without too deep of sim mechanics
So for TWTGM Unity was the perfect format for it. It also could have been done in exploration style using RPGM as well with a day/night routine and where you then have to walk to get to public transport to get to work/dating/etc...
Renpy on the other hand is a lot better suited for games where it is all driven by player dialogue choices or games that don't really take advantage of the gameplay possibilities that Unity or RPGM offer
So in the case of TWTGM Renpy would have actually been a really bad format for it as you lose all the gameplay the Unity build offers. Even with this port I would still recommend new players enjoy the base game first but only use this Renpy one to discover any scenes they struggled to figure out how to get in the Unity version of the game
Other games like
Manilla Shaw is really poorly suited for RPGM as it doesn't use any of the RPGM gameplay possibilities. There is very limited combat, there is no exploration, you mostly just go in a linear path from point A to B with a few optional scenes you kind of have to discover yourself using a guide as they are easily missed in the RPGM build. Renpy would have been much better suited for it with player dialogues choices instead driving the game pathways and combat outcome then being driven from prior choices
While games like
Claire's quest are perfect for RPGM and would make horrible Renpy games as it actually uses RPGM based gameplay. You have exploration, it is non-linear and combat & exploration are core parts of the game
