Im sad and tired of seeing new games beeing launched eveyday, since last year we have a shitload of V1s and none to little games get finished. Eveyday the lastest update page is filled with V1s and Demos its like someone figured the golden goose and its trying to cash on. I feel that the golden days of games are gone, it was the time of BB, DMD and Dreams of Desire... Now its just a handfull of nothing, games that will disapear in V3 or V4 the most.

Games take a while to finish, at least a year or two usually. So you're always going to have an increasing game count, I think thats a good thing. And to the golden days comment, I dont think thats true. I think Being A DIK, DeLuca Family, Broken Dreamers (all newer games) are better or equal to the games you mention (not to mention DMD is still ongoing). There are just more of them, along with other super popular games that are still being developed and many promising games being started. I've probably added at least 10-15 games to my watch list this year. You dont have to play any of them though, and you probably wont find anything new you like if you assume its going to be bad from the beginning. All games have a V1, a lot of them dont get finished but some of them will and a few of those will be epic. I also think its weird you complain about abandoned games, but list BB as one of the golden days games.

You are right, I feel ashamed of having completed a game and even dared to start a new one when there are so many games already, how could I have been so unthoughtful?

If I did not do this as a hobby I would have said I would go look for a job but instead I will be going to peel tomatoes, why tomatoes, you may ask? Because no one peels tomatoes, I will be doing something unique for once.
Thanks for lighting up the path of reason, I will be forever grateful to you while I will be peeling my tomatoes.

-edit-
You better not steal my idea, I shall be the only one peeling tomatoes, if someone else does it, let them know I peeled tomatoes first.

you can play BB every day for the rest of your life.
You can also buy a rope and hang yourself... o_O

At least that would involve much less grinding...

Unless you are really bad at knotting, obviously. :ROFLMAO:

Maybe the "golden days" are gone, because of Patreon guidelines and increasing competition.
On the other hand, there are a number of excellent games that were released after that time and completed.
In terms of renders, gameplay and story, games have improved quite a lot.
The "problem" is that these better games are making less money on Patreon than in the "golden days" and as such, some devs are forced to abandon.

Hey, I started peeling tomatoes last year already, stop that instantly or I'll call the cops!

@Topic What's wrong with more games? More games, more diversity (yes I know many devs just jump on the cash train, but still), more potentially good games. Look, the more games there are, the more the devs have to take care that the games meet expectations and create uniqe games.
Yes there is the downside of many games get abandoned because some wannabe devs underestimate the workload and/or just want to jump on the money train, but this isn't always a bad thing.

New game: Lisa goes to college, the musical.
You play as Lisa, the little sister from BB. All grown up and moved away to pursue her dream of becoming a cheerleader.
Will she pass her mid terms, or will she have to find other ways to keep her grades up and make her teachers happy.
Will the football team, even want her on the cheerleading squad? Will she be head cheerleader?
Will her feminist professors show her the glass ceiling? help Lisa make it through 4 years, and give her a leg up the corporate ladder.

Im sad and tired of seeing new games beeing launched eveyday,
Then don't use the latest update page and only look at the game section by filtering with the "completed" flag. There's two/three games that are completed each week, and probably few more added as already completed games.

I feel that the golden days of games are gone,
I agree, I also miss the late 90's and their adult games made by professionals. Imagine all those POV games featuring real porn actresses, but done with nowadays technologies like VR ?

it was the time of BB, DMD and Dreams of Desire...
Er... One pure grinding game where half the time you don't even know what you should do, and that have a boss in god mode that killed the game. A good, but not this good, game still in progress. And finally a game with a really good story, but that never ever implemented all the interesting game mechanisms promised in the early releases. It's far to be my definition of "golden days".
They are probably more above the average, than they were at their time, but they are far to be the best you can play. I'll not deny that I feel something for those games, but it's just nostalgia of the time I was virgin in regard of modern adult games. Since I entered the actual scene by playing them, I discovered more interesting games, and more amazing one have been started.
If the golden age have to be defined only by few games then it's now, since it's now that we have games like The Deluca Family, Heavy Five, Seraphim Academy, the alas abandoned High School Crush Simulator, the romantic My Sweet Neighbors (far better than Dating my Daughter), the dark Depraved Awakening, the strange but interesting Ecchi Sensei or Wicked Choices series, Long Live the Princess with its interesting approach and story, and few other games.
Yes, DmD and DoD were something in their time, but they just opened the door. They proved that an adult game can also have a real and interesting story. And now we have authors that go further, combining the said story with an effective game mechanism, going even deeper on the story side, or adding amazing rendering in top of it.

Now its just a handfull of nothing, games that will disapear in V3 or V4 the most.
Say the guy who used as example of the golden days, Dating my Daughter, a game still in progress after (almost) three years, Big Brother, a game abandoned, and Dreams of Desires, a game that never had what was promised at first...

Well, just ignore anything less than v0.6. You'll miss some gems, but you'll play games with content.

The golden days sucked, @anne O'nymous pointed out why exactly. A slowly developing game, that probably has no idea where it wants to go, the quintessential "this is NOT how you make a game one and the "Deus ex Machina" one. Yeah, thanks but no thanks.

The hobby is getting better and better and yes, there will be cash grabs constantly - there are money in this, cash grabs will be had. Tell me an industry, where there aren't any?

I think most of those games are shit and I'm glad that more and more people get into development and increase the amount of variety on offer. Will a lot of them fail and get abandoned? Maybe, but nobody is forcing you to play a 0.1 game.
