Im sad and tired of seeing new games beeing launched eveyday,
Then don't use the latest update page and only look at the game section by filtering with the "completed" flag. There's two/three games that are completed each week, and probably few more added as already completed games.
I feel that the golden days of games are gone,
I agree, I also miss the late 90's and their adult games made by professionals. Imagine all those POV games featuring real porn actresses, but done with nowadays technologies like VR ?
it was the time of BB, DMD and Dreams of Desire...
Er... One pure grinding game where half the time you don't even know what you should do, and that have a boss in god mode that killed the game. A good, but not this good, game still in progress. And finally a game with a really good story, but that never ever implemented all the interesting game mechanisms promised in the early releases. It's far to be my definition of "golden days".
They are probably more above the average, than they were at their time, but they are far to be the best you can play. I'll not deny that I feel something for those games, but it's just nostalgia of the time I was virgin in regard of modern adult games. Since I entered the actual scene by playing them, I discovered more interesting games, and more amazing one have been started.
If the golden age have to be defined only by few games then it's now, since it's now that we have games like
The Deluca Family,
Heavy Five,
Seraphim Academy, the alas abandoned
High School Crush Simulator, the romantic
My Sweet Neighbors (far better than
Dating my Daughter), the dark
Depraved Awakening, the strange but interesting
Ecchi Sensei or
Wicked Choices series,
Long Live the Princess with its interesting approach and story, and few other games.
Yes, DmD and DoD were something in their time, but they just opened the door. They proved that an adult game can also have a real and interesting story. And now we have authors that go further, combining the said story with an effective game mechanism, going even deeper on the story side, or adding amazing rendering in top of it.
Now its just a handfull of nothing, games that will disapear in V3 or V4 the most.
Say the guy who used as example of the golden days, Dating my Daughter, a game still in progress after (almost) three years,
Big Brother, a game abandoned, and
Dreams of Desires, a game that never had what was promised at first...
