No idea how much my ssd's/hdd's cost I have had some of them for years. Also stoarage isnt that expensive anymore. Trying to find a motherboard with enough Sata ports is the expensive part.

Personally I can recommend "WD My Passport 5TB", external USB 3 HDD that is around 120 USD.

Keep in mind that WD recently dropped quality and new ones spin at 4200 RPM and don't support hardware encryption, but speed is similar to older ones and is at around 80-120 MB/s.

Got like 8 of them (not all 5TB, some 4 and two 2) and all works after 5years (the oldest one) but I had recently faulty one, died literally just after connecting to PC, warranty and replacement no problem whatsoever, but then if this craps with 4TB of content then... yeah sh@#$% hit the fan.

Cheap alternative for backup and "family photos" :wink: :wink:

PS: don't go Seagate 5TB - for small files transfer was atrocious, I mean literally 10x++ slower then those WDs, it could be faulty drive but still either way not looking good.
