just thinking....when or if the update comes, it's gonna be full of bugs probably at first because of the things they gonna cram in it mechanics and whatnot

I think it won't be as such because Koda already said that the reason it is taking this long is that they are learning a lot from this floor :D

I've been doing game side gigs while holding down a developer day job for years now and it's fucking exhausting. 60 hour work weeks are the norm. You get bunt out. The other people get burnt out. You try to add something different to keep the game fresh which involves integrating completely new mechanics into the framework and something goes wrong. Dialog. Art. Scripting. Scope creep. Bug fixing.

Out of all the indie smut dev teams out there I feel like these two might be slow, but generally deliver pretty polished content. Then there's games like Accidental Woman which generate twice the income, have been at it for god knows how long and all they have is some broken piece of shit character creator with a bunch of empty locations. Or yes, Futadomworld where the team basically wants people to pay $20/month to support their casual hobby.

With that being said, I pretty much don't think anyone should accept money if they can't meet deadlines and deliver a product
in a professional manner. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I can't find Karen. Doesnt she supposed to be in her playground room with the version 1.12 ? Please help
did you set the lighting trap to make her spawn the first time? if not just talk iwth the monks they will guide you to craft the trap.
one item is obtained in the Eliza's flor the monk ther gives it to you after you talk to him twice i think or after beating eliza can't quite remember

We never said this; there is no set date at the moment. Please don't spread release info that doesn't come from Bo or myself.

Re. everything else: as previous reports have said in more detail: 7F will speak for itself. If people don't trust us and want to cancel their pledges in the interim (or even after the release, if they don't feel it was worth the wait), that's their call.

As someone pointed out a few pages back: Bo and I would make more money in (far) fewer hours at any random part-time job. We would also make more money if we catered to certain kinks (GTS, Furry, Futa, etc.), a different medium (eg. monthly CG-sets with some light story/text for ~$5-10 similar to a lot of JP circles), or even just returned to the simpler floors/girls like 1-4F.

But we'd prefer to develop (and show everyone) our vision of "peak ToT" -- and that's what our patrons are funding. If it turns out that not enough people want to fund that type of the development, then we'll probably have to reevaluate our approach, but we're hoping 7F will convince everyone (and we appreciate that 1-6F seem to have convinced enough people to stick with us for as long as they have already).
Sorry if this is considered necro, but I don't think just getting rid of release dates if you can't stick to them is the right move here. I'm sure 7F will be amazing and when it's out it'll make the long wait feel justified, but you can't expect people to not lose interest when you stop making announcements about your game. If what you're worried about is people bitching about delays then you shouldn't be, people will always find something new to complain about. Plus, for every person who's mad about you missing your deadline, there'll be 10 who are happy to have you update us on your work, successes AND setbacks included.
Here's what I'd recommend, in case you give a damn. Give us some sort of progress report, it doesn't have to have a format or be THAT detailed, just something to tie us over until the updates come out. You can even mix small teasers in with these as well, just make them something semi-frequent. Otherwise just give us your best estimated release date, even if it's complete speculation, and don't worry too much about having to do it a couple more times before the actual release. Anything beats radio silence, and if it isn't you speculating on the release dates, it'll be the disgruntled members of your community with their doomsday scenarios. I'll even take an announcement for the date of the announcement, no joke.
That's my 2 cents, hope they help. Keep up the good work!

Maintaining frequent interaction (or an illusion that they can impact the games development) with the patrons is a smart idea if you want to make more money, but in the end it's an optional activity which doesn't make the end product better or come out faster.
It's better for the player if the patches are sizable that come less often anyway. Impatience is normal but not admirable.

Progress Update(from the Discord)

7F Progress Report tl;dr - 7F scheduled for Late May; "Spring Cleaning" release scheduled for end of April

Bo is still working hard on 7F, and finally feels confident setting Late May as a deadline for himself. We know this is much later than any of you wanted/expected, but as always we stand by the work itself and hope it will be worth the wait. As the map teaser below will hopefully convince you: 7F is practically a standalone game.

As for the interim release: this is of my design and was something I was planning to add along with 7F, but 7F is taking so long that the benefits of pairing them (heralding the new content with richer and more polished foundation) no longer outweighs the cost (failing to give you guys any tangible signs of life).

This update will contain additional content for all the floors. Notably, many combat dialogues and twists are being added to make fights more repayable from a lewd/rp perspective. More floor events are also being added, especially if you've become submissive to certain bosses.

There will even be some CG support now that my artistic skills have improved (and don't worry; Bo always gives me stuff a once-over). As mentioned before, Karen and Cobra will be getting special attention, but everyone (yes, even Lily -- even Miss Claus, actually) has something substantial in the works. I don't want to spoil too much, but I will say I'm excited for some special events where the ladies actually notice if a boy has been foolish enough to end up at Lvl/ATK/DEF 1... and treat him accordingly.

Anyway, I was going to recommend that people start a fresh save for 7F, but since people would (understandably) probably want to rush right to 7F, staggering the releases is probably for the best.

As always, thanks for everyone's patience and support. I know I always sign off with that, but it deserves to be recognized every time; you all believing in us is why 7F is possible over simple bosses-of-the-month.

The update is going to be massive and it's great, but this is very different from the usual ToT, which is super cool once in a while, but we just had Karen. I have mixed feelings about it.

The main pivot with 7F is Bo wants to expand the scale of floor quest/exploration mechanics. While previous floors have a variety of mechanics, he feels they all essentially just ferry players from one ero-scene to another and wants to try something more organic. Even 6F, which introduced "quests" proper, basically just has you walk to spot X or interact with object Y. The compact method has merits, of course: it trims a lot of the fat on both ends, many players want to be ferried from one scene to another, and we recognize that tedious RPG mechanics are a pitfall to many otherwise-great ero-RPGs -- but ultimately Bo and I agree properly implemented mechanics add a lot to the lewdness and appeal of the game. And we don't see any reason to abandon our own ambition just because most other games don't seem to have found the right balance. On the other hand, if the floor flow is too opaque, everyone will simply ask for a guide/flowchart on release day, meaning we're also trying to ensure that there's a sufficiently satisfying "autopilot" path. This has a variety of benefits, such as a main thread to connect the floor, as well as more freedom/plausible-deniability to make more intense or specialized scenes in some areas on the basis that players will only find them if they go looking. Anyway, we think it's worth trying: before their respective implementations, the most requested features in the game were sniffing Scarlett and then Cobra's shoes. As far as we can tell, you all enjoy turning over rocks and finding something lewd as much as me and Bo, and we want to take that to the next level by making a floor with lots of nooks and crannies, and more elaborate outcomes than some easter-egg text or a quick ero scene. There's also the completely amazing mechanics I mentioned in the last update but still don't want to spoil, so continue to get hype (and apologies for constantly hitting hype's snooze button). ===


On my end, I'm working on some odds and ends in addition to 7F and 8F. Karen's puppy stuff is on the way, as well as a sort of overhaul/mini-expansion for Lady Cobra. Like Bo, I've been learning more about scripting in Ruby/RGSS3 (RPGM's language), which opens the path to a lot of features I wish I had a long time ago. And more flexibility in functionality gives more flexibility in storytelling. My plan is to add these changes along with 7F, but depending on how long 7F takes, they may be part of an intermediate release similar to the EX/Cleaning update from last year. We're aware that this is the longest gap between releases so far and not any more happy about it than you are, but ultimately the game itself takes priority.
