I remember a lot of people being cautiously optimistic when crow came out, mainly because it was one among a stream of releases (Always in Debt, Tiffany, and Swan before that, and then Jester afterwards) that all came out within a couple months of each other. Which was logical at the time. I mean, as bad as this year has been, last year was even worse for Tower of Trample.
This year we got Swan, Crow, Jester, and three side games. Last year we got the beginning of Swan, Warrior Guild, and nothing else. As far as ToT is concerned, 2020 has been a better year than 2019.
I will have to disagree with you here.
Last year we were at least under the impression that they were working on 7F and that it was simply a matter of (too much) complexity. The floor plan hinted at that, and there was a teaser video.
Also there was something of a semi-release with the beginnings of a Cobra expansion. Again, a lot of complexity, hinted at in the form of a lot of hooks that were "not yet implemented".
Warrior Guild was supposed to be an exceptional event that would help Koda and Bo to try out new mechanics.
Which they have done of course, no arguing there.
But they doubled down on the side projects. While there are more releases, they don't even pretend to work on the game anymore. It appears to me that whenever things begin to become tricky because of the detail work, they procrastinate in the form of yet another side project. Contrary to what seems to be the most stated opinion in this thread, I don't think they are scamming people though. They just lack the professionalism to apply themselves to the extent that more than just the easy/fun part (development wise) and low-hanging fruit gets done.
And no, this is not about Koda being a perfectionist, although I bet he would like to see himself that way. The embarrassingly buggy releases (even after other people supposedly have playtested them), as well as sheer number of unfinished pet projects by now, speak otherwise.

I hope the next update doesn't come prematurely like cyberpunk did. They should take their time and add veins to everything first. I want to see veins in places where there aren't even places.
