The coding that BoWei does for the game seems pretty complicated.

Does anyone think he was like a professional coder before he started ToT?

He's talked about it a long time ago on discord. He used to be an artist, working on digital media. He worked on some video games designing assets and whatnot, dabbled in some simple games in his spare time. Coding was never his strong point, and if I remember based off other people who do understand coding, most of his code is copy pasted from other peoples work, which is why the ToT code is a mess. If he was writing his own code efficiently, ToT would be in a better place most likely.

Check out some of his older, pre-Koda games to see what he was capable of. His art was always distinct, but his games were very simple.

Nah honestly I don't code I am in finance but compared to a lot of the other games on this site it seems significantly more complex.

I don't think I've seen anything close to it here but happy to hear examples.

I graduated CS around 5 years ago, got a job as a Systems Engineer where 90 percent of the job is SQL and even I can tell that bo and koda "code" is garbage. From the snippets we've seen so far it's like some kind of wild west hell of spaghetti code

I haven't touched "proper code" in around 5 years and even I can tell its a total fucking mess.

Just saying... there are scripters and code monkeys here that can do work... I mean heck, even if they are trying to do something the normal editor doesn't allow, creating the functionality in c and then compiling it as a DLL is really simple. I remember when the old AHK image recognition was broken and some game I decided I wanted to bot, had the community built but the bot wasn't working... So I created a new header file, imported opencv, wrote half a dozen access functions and compiled it as a DLL, and they made thousands off it lol.

It takes less than 30 seconds to go back a page or two to understand context / know what's going on with the game.
