Just to say, when one lives in a state that the way they decided to combat Elder/disables abuse and neglect was to make a law requiring someone to be home with them all the time, but hey, since you can't earn money outside of your home, in the cases of a marriage in which one person has a disability we'll create a system for you to get paid, but hey, later we'll cut a third out of your check and never offer raises or benefits or anything else and the feds created a law stating that this type of job is not allowed to collect medicare or social security taxes from the spouse's paycheck, so their retirement checks later will incredibly small, added to the fact that the current check you get is small, especially after that cut they made (and always talk about cutting more, since you have to be home anyway, acting as a full time caregiver...they think $70,000 is a fuck lot of money. So do teachers and nurses (LPN, LVNs that is), and nurses aids. But our lives must be so unimaginable that they deserve ridicule and derision, so thanks, hope it comes back to you some day, knowing that these days most people become caregivers for a family member whether they wish to or not, sometimes as directed by a state, like, ummmmm Florida.
