As I said I'm not in favor of another useless character, but it makes the most sense for why he even wrote him into the story so many chapters ago. And it would be another obstacle for Lester. He gets rid of Otis, only to be replaced by Richard. Again not something I want to see. I think by this point in the series, DS should be focused on resolving all these loose plot threads, instead of creating new ones.
Well, not the only reason. Richard, obviously felt he was the smartest man in the room (yes, man, watch why) and he looked down on everyone else, especially the women. He got rid of just about every woman and brought in people , yes, including women, but the women were sub-par and didn't really know their jobs, in that way he controlled that portion of the workplace. He used misogyny to displace women good at their jobs, so he could put incompetent women in their place so he could control them and what they did in the workplace. As far as the men, he only liked what he considered strong men, confident in themselves and their maleness, which is why he liked Lester, plus Lester used the misogyny to talk Richard into putting Sarah under him, thereby humiliating Sarah and putting her in her place, for Richard and coming in like a knight on a white horse to make sure she would still have a job at the hospital and he saved her, now look Sarah, Lester = hero, so Lester = love. Where was Dan during all this to lend support to Sarah, who gives a fuck, after all, Lester = Hero.
Now could Richard say you want your job, then fuck me for it, but there are too many people already involved, including Mary and the new employees. So sorry, Richard, missed your chance, oh by the way, Lester just quit, in solidarity with Sarah, once again Lester = Hero, Lester = Love, especially when he tells her that he is loaded and doesn't need a job to support her and the girls. Lester = Hero, Lester = Love.
