The first slide of the new update shows that our band of travelers has upgraded their defensive capability a bit: we now have an axe, BB bat and Shelley is carrying what looks like a small fire extinguisher.

They've had the bat for a bit now. And if I'm not mistaken that's a regular fire extinguisher farther away from the camera, on the floor.

Yes, the fire extinguisher looks like a background object, as for the bat, they found it this ep iirc.
I'm more curious what this impactful choice is and the consequences.
A few ep's on the road sound good.

Good point - I wanted to give Shelley credit for grabbing something to defend herself/the group but that might be an overreach for now... (I hope it is just for now).

I feel like the MC is cursed.

If he was playing dodge ball in HS, he would be getting the people the first and second teams did not pick and then get told there is not enough time for his team to get farmed by/I mean play the winner... so go out and lead them in doing laps.

One strange storm later, MC leads his battered, soaked, team back inside, calling out 'Coach... Coach...' but the gym and locker rooms are empty...

I like this dev's games, but I'd hope he would've dropped the whole apocalypse bit by now, I feel like the stories feel too much alike in that regard and I would like to see what the dev could do in other settings

Nah, i like his storys. It's not like there is a lot of good, or even decent, games which have a survival/apocalypse theme.
Also not sure what other genres are intersting for the dev.
Normal slice of life/college/(bad) crime settings are pretty much any other game...we really don't need more of them.

Disagree. He does well in this genre and it is sort of niche. I'd much rather him be here than college, crime, typical brat sitting at home fucking his family type stories that are common.

That's like asking J. K. Rowling to stop writing about wizards after she wrote Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Perhaps the developer will branch out with his next game, but for now, this game does just fine.

I agree!

These kinds of stories, especially the ones that don't have blood related characters chasing sexy time with each other, are also safer to create and put on places like Patreon. The latest 'crusade' against adult content is causing major concern among a lot of creators about their ability to use ITCH and other store fronts.

TOXICity and The Interim Domain are, IMO, relatively safe from this kind of censorship.

I'm also one who enjoys the apocalypse stories and I'm fine with different flavors of the apocalypse - zombie outbreak, end of the world aftermath, curse of the mummy (?) - as the backdrop for good story telling.

In the time Kinderfeld has told and completed two different AVNs, most of my other favorite apocalyptic authors have either abandoned their single AVN or they are still working on AVN #1.

We will get the Director's Cut for TID before other favorites are even close to finished.

For me, if I want different kinds of AVN stories, I'll go to different AVN creators.

This Devs consistency and quality of creation made him my first annual $ subscription and I have never regretted supporting him this way since that first annual sub.

I'm enjoying this game; don't know if I've played any other by the same dev though, but I resonate with the feeling of wondering what a writer's take on different genres would be, what type of false dichotomy is "he should stay squarely within a niche instead of making incest slop". He can make games without incest, or a high school setting, or whatever played out trope you don't like. Those are not the only options.

I feel like a lot of us just tolerate them; they're really not my preference at all but incest is so common in porn in general, which I don't really understand, that if you avoid it entirely you have so little content specially if you want stuff with a plot

There are a lot of incest games sure, same for ntr, or the worst offender college. If you want a incest game which is even halfway decent that list is really small thought.
Most games feel like they just throw in some incest to get more supporters, as it is just a other slice of life/college/sandbox timewaster, with no plot or anything else going for it.

I mean thats kinda fair, like personally I'm not specifically INTO incest, it could be replaced with "childhood best friend" and still hit the same vibe for me. The idea of having like a parent remarry with a person who has a kid of the opposite gender, growing up together and exploring was a particular fetish for me growing up. I dont really draw a line in fantasy with sibling/half sibling but I definitely would have IRL if it was the case (even in real porn would find it a bit weird if it was legit)

so yeah im probably similar category, not a specific thing I'm into, its just kinda there. I do however hate the wording ppl use in place of it like "no we cant you're my roommate/tennant/best friend/group, its forbidden!" etc sounds dumb as hell

It's the 13th of the month, which means that at least a few hundred people are happy to hear we have a new update loading right now. We'll follow up the horrifying cliffhanger with even more horrifying cliffhangers. And some gore. Also, I guess some sexy parts. It's really a weird juxtaposition. Luckily, the horror movie genre is rife with teenagers having sex and then getting brutally murdered, or I might be worried I was doing some gore-core kink stuff.
As mentioned before, this update has a fix for the weird dorm room render and additional content warnings. It also has a choice that feels pretty innocuous at the time that's a lot more important down the line than you might think. I'll let the mystery of that statement make some of you anxious.
