Next we will get into preparing food without a stove/microwave.
Well, you could do it like some former neighbours of me, rip out the flooring, put some stones there and so you can have a open fire in your kitchen...the oven you can use as countertop

They should try vinegar (if they can find some). I don't know exactly what those clouds are made of but a cloth soaked in vinegar will lessen the effect of tear gas - maybe it'd help? dunno. Even a cloth soaked in water will make you less susceptible to smoke inhalation - can't hurt to try.

Yeah, i thought the same when they were complaining about their smelly cloths...like guys, you had a sink and/or shower even in the first building and flowing water... why not wash them :HideThePain:
Sure ain't no washing mashine and won't smell like flowers or whatever, but way better then ''air them out'', if you wear the same cloths for weeks.

Probably wait until you see her at daylight, up close...and hope she ain't burning off your dick :ROFLMAO:
I have started a discussion about hygiene in the thread and people honestly there honestly are too lazy to even shave their beards

I was a bit shocked that when the fog thinned MC went out looking for hats instead of using the opportunity to move buildings - while they could see everything. Just use a strip of cloth and get everyone safely moved. Fuck the baseball caps.

I think any group with military training or a well led, experienced, sports team would be able to do this, but they would have already packed everything up and been ready to move very quickly.

They would also have a designated or actual leader who was effectively an autocrat for the duration of the emergency - follow their lead and hold the questions until the emergency is over/no longer an issue.

Here, we have the MC, the leader of an ad hoc group including two office workers - one of which recently lost it and can barely be trusted - as well as the newest 'team' member - a ditsy college girl now off her meds.

He is herding cats = reading moods/managing morale/trying to integrate the newest person, Shelley, into the group while getting her buy-in to leave her sanctuary and come with the 3 of them.

This is on top of his scrounging for food and protection from the fog/exploring ways to cross the campus 'safely'/ensuring that they are as protected as he can make them and trying to manage his own physical and mental health.

The MC and the group are also 3 weeks into the disaster (first fog rolled in and shut things down on Jun 17; day after the rain is Jul 7); the MC and in fairness, the women, are not at their best due to stress and lack of balanced/adequate meals among other things.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

I think at 3 weeks in, with the group the MC has, he is getting some tunnel vision - reduced to just staying focused on a few goals:

* Keep the group together and as safe as can be

* Keep pushing towards the hospital and the hope of an air evac

* Manage the groups food/water/shelter/security needs as best he can

Are there things he is missing? -- Absolutely, and I think it will get worse!

I think he is playing the hand he was dealt as best he can, but the continued lack of adequate food/rest/shelter/security is going to result in a further reduction of mental acuity and the dangers that come from that.

Cheers!! :coffee:

Maybe, and someone on board with actual training would help (or maybe not because that person would know they had the upper hand and - depending on the kind of person they are - could be dangerous). Ultimately it's as academic as the argument over clothes washing but ...

I've obviously never been in this situation, but in my experience people in prologued crisis situations still go fight or flight. If they go flight, things usually go badly very quickly, but if they go fight - it means that they analyze the situation and the obstacles and think about how to improve the situation, improve their odds, exploit their advantages in the situation etc and, even if they decide to go exploring, talk to the other people, or fuck these people still spend 10-12 hours/day with nothing to do but think.

The evidence of that thinking doesn't seem to show up though.

MC: We need baseball caps
MC (10 days later): Really need some baseball caps

It's a good story, but at least once/chapter I find myself going "Dude, WTF are you thinking?"

There was nothing in the text about it but hopefully they'll remember - if you get a good rain, you can move farther, faster, more safely and with less gas exposure.

I'm still stuck on the MC finding a perfectly fine hoodie, and *none* of them remembering that, by definition, hoodies have *HOODS* for covering heads. Or maybe it was Shelley that found it...my point stands that a hoodie was found, and not a one of them remembered that hoodies have built-in head coverings. At least as far as .8, since I haven't gone through .9 yet.

baseball hats do have some protection uses, however nothing as good as a wrapping on the head and neck like a shemagh ... think the wraps you see special forces wear when in the desert, and most middle eastern people wear in the desert. Basically any T-shirt would do and you could tear it into the right size. That would stop getting the fog into the hair, and on the neck and face. Baseball hats will keep the stuff out of your hair (unless it is long like all 3 girls), and also stop the fog from settling on your face (as fog is water/chemical particles in the air which settle over time). This technical is a help, but a Shemagh would be much better long term. Over all, I think it is like some people focusing on what they have, and not what they don't have, which will work. When the shit hits the fan, people go to what they know, and if you don't know anything else, you can be sorta screwed. I bet the MC was like "I need to protect my head, get a baseball hat".

This could quite literally be because the default Honey Studio hoodies might not have that functionality. You and I know that's how hoodies work in real life, but if you make a 3D model of a hoodie with the hood down you just can't magic it up and around your head without some serious modeling/animation/rigging work.

Finally all caught up. The witch is scary, and I'm not sure these people are up to a more formidable enemy than the blind/deaf "burned ones". Still batting Shelly away, still don't like her. Fairly useless, unpredictable and contrary to what she said she's not a particularly good "cocksleeve" because I smell yandere tendencies. (And some point I might do a speed run and use my magical time travel powers to unfuck Laura because Kallie is definitely the winner in that contest.)

But a cocksleeve is all she was ever good for, sex the only topic she speaks about...don't take her only reason to exist away

Yeah, even the blind/deaf/slow burned ones are bit much for them, as they get regular sprayed...still, a more inteligent enemy sounds like more fun, well for us.
Kalie is by far the best girl, thought i'm curious who the 4th girl will be, i really hope for one with some police/military background, which is actually usefull...as the other three can't even wash some cloths while the MC is the one doing quite literally all the work, including babysitting these headless chickens.
