Anyone know how to delete save files? I fresh installed and it's showing saves that I made last version and I cant delete them, I delete them from the saves folder yet they are still there, I can't load any as they crash the game and I really don't want to start from 0 again, Using the CH14 save file doesn't work either as it doesn't show up in the load screen

The saves are stored in the game directory you're playing from, and also your user folder under AppData\Roaming\RenPy. You need to delete both sets to get a clean run.

Edit: Assuming MS Windows.

Still think it's such a letdown that if you hold off on having sex with Shelley until you're in the new house and she asks you to "make love to her like you care", and opens up about how she's always never viewed sex as meaningful before, the characters pretend that you've been having sex all along anyway.

Usually the game is really good about having different dialogue depending on if you've had sex, or even if you have but then skipped certain sex scenes.

The last image before chapter end feels like it adds support to the theory of the evolving ecosystem that the MC and his band of tired, cranky women must continue to navigate as they look for escape to safety.

I don't know WTF this creature can do But... after Grendel and 'this' - what else are they going to encounter the longer they are in the 'fog'?

I'm getting a nice sense of foreboding for what we have Not seen but know that things out there in the fog are growing/evolving into ???

go to your auto saves and keep loading ea one until it works. that is how i got through this error and how i usually get through errors that come up when loading a save file when a new update drops and all i have to do is just skip to the point where i left off at.

when this doesnt work i just start over sadly or wait for a fix.

Alright, you know the drill. Here's a save at the start (literal title card) of Chapter 14 for anyone who might need it. The archive includes the individual hard save, an autosave, and the persistent data. Just extract the contents of the ZIP archive into the game's save folder in the install directory (TOXICity-0.14.0 > game > saves). The hard save is located on page 35, or you can grab the slot 1 Autosave if that's easier for you. Save had unlocked all prior content, and has maximized points by following the official walkthrough up to this point.

I was new to this game with the last update (13) so this is my first "update" after my original playthough. I saw when I DL-ed 13 that a new game was/might be necessary, but obv that didn't matter to me since I was playing the first time. The last thing I expected was for my saves not to work with 14 if that had just happened with 13.

To those of you who have been playing for a while: does this dev make saves break with every update to this game?

If so I don't care how good the story is - when it's this long into the story we're not talking about 5 minutes of skipping. Even new devs just starting their first game can figure out how to make saves work 98% of the time, so what's the excuse here?

EDIT: I was able to make saves work again by manually replacing the game folder saves with OS Ren'Py folder saves. Seems as though the game is not importing that data correctly.

I don't remember any saves breaking for this AVN. Been too long since I played Now and Then but I want to say it never happened with that one too.

Save breaking has been an off-and-on issue with ILS games since the beginning. It was worse at the beginning and has slowly gotten better (for me at least.) No real idea why, but USUALLY you can fix the problem without a total restart - try the autosaves, most of the time one of them will load correctly. Also, roll back one or two screens from the "This is the end of the update" screen before saving.
