Because it includes the cheat file e005.txt if you don't want them then just delete that and the game would work as intended.

There are two older games in this same series of which no translation whatsoever exists it seems, 6th and 5th Raijin, could you please share anything you have on them ?

Like I and others already said, translation is very unlikely since you can't use some symbols and some letter combinations (like cr, if I remember right). First can be worked around easily enough by using double wide "asian" symbols, but second issue is worse.

This is ironic how the game has been made modable on purpose but with no thought at localization.

People still don't listen no matter how many times I reiterate this, you can change the code to stop it doing this, I did it in the past during translation and people ignored my input, THE CODE CAN BE CHANGED SO IT STOPS LINE BREAKING ON 'cr' it can even linebreak on characters like 'Ω'!

So, can you give a modified .exe for it to only affect event files and game not failing to start up after changes?

Should be good to go, cr is now Ω, if you see cr while playing that's due to non-hardcoded script files, if you see an error provide the line number and screenshot the error (with debug on ana.txt -> "//解析モード on" and make sure there's a log/ directory in base files)
