He might as well update it (to fix any lingering issues).
Jast outright said it'd be years before we'd get the official translation.

Just curious, but why? I don't know a ton about it, I just heard it was kind of the precursor to Daibanchou, and I love the gameplay and mechanics of that one so I was always curious to try it (but unlike Daibanchou I never saw a translation for DaiaKuji.)
First of all, it's a System3 game. System3 is horrible to work with (Daibanchou as a counter example is System4). Then, being quite old, not that many people might be eager to spend money on it.
Can someone explain to me how to install it because I can't get it translated?

Oh the github link is for Daiakuji not Daiteikoku (both apart of the same series but not connected beyond the 'Dai' branding).
You need to acquire a legal copy of Daiakuji (or find someone willing to share) to apply the github translation.
