Try Mtool, it works for that game and is what everyone uses for it.

I think you're doing it wrong. I used it for the game and it worked. Mtl quality but good enough to get the gist of it.

there not locked there in the other tab there in the cg area press c to switch between tabs

not in the title page you press c in scene or cg screen at bottom right you also see it tells you that you can switch between tabs with c and other button
