i had that error when trying to load the demo a few days ago couldn't figure out how to fix it if you find a way an update would be helpful.

I found out, Set your system locale to japanese so that the weird characters show up as japanese
Settings>Time and Language>Administrive Language Settings

Afterwards I played it using MTool to translate
