I have never seen someone encountering a problem like that
Could you please try with Gargoyle just to rule it out?
(Git and gargoyle are about the same).

Btw Strateg is one of the versions with the least amount of features.
Thanks. I'll give that a try. Playing text only reminded me of of playing Zork under MSDOS about thirty years ago. :)
ETA: That worked. Thanks a lot! I think the trouble was that using the link for git from the OP meant I only got to download the bare git.exe without all the supporting stuff, whereas using the link for gargoyle that I found by searching this thread gave me all its ancillary libraries and fonts as well.

The Forest also leads to the Hotel, where you actualy find the option to "end the simulation" plus some other nice things.
You have The Dungeon, Forest, Mansion, Hotel, School and Extra Credit Zone... this last one you get pulling the lever on the portal after a class... only if you are using the patron file.
As for the characters, I use the "showme ()" command to get all the variants, some amazons are quite hard to get... And in this new version, I did not found the Djinn in the forest.
Hope this helps, and good luck on your hunt
I've just found this old post. I've already discovered the Dungeon, School, Forest and Hotel, but where will I find the entrance to the Mansion? I thought I'd pretty much explored all of the areas that I've manage to find, but evidently not.

It's in the forest. The academy portal can also send you to it randomly after a couple of lessons.

Does the whole thing get slow over time? Not the "ugh, did it hang after I clicked again?" kind, but...

Played for probably several hours yesterday, and at some late point fought one of the guards in the Dungeon - according to his health bar, he was taking no damage whatsoever, despite me having a Knee/Kick power of 8 and the log saying "visibly recoiled from the hit" or the like ("superb hit", was it?). Then, 3 or 4 turns in, his health bar drops by more than half after...a Slap with power 2? "Whatever, moving on" -> run into an aeromancer -> same thing - health bar not moving, she beat me within 5+ turns with no HP lost at all, apparently. Gave up, quit, cooled off, fire the game up today, found the aeromancer -> Knee, Kick, Slap, wand up your bum (y) 4 turns, ezpz.

So, what I am trying to ask is: is it possible EVERYTHING eventually starts lagging? Because that sounds like, at the very least, the GUI lagging - discrepancy between health bar and battle log -, AND the game - since the enemy never went down, meaning their HP never actually hit 0 as far as the game was concerned, so...the GUI was...NOT actually lagging?...

TL;DR - what the heck happened? Running the game using , in case that matters. Also, how do I get rid of fox ears? Cursed = cannot unequip, examining them gives no hint I can see (not even in quest log), and they cannot be cleansed at the shrine.

TheodoreBear If only I knew which ones are "unnecessary" :ROFLMAO: Typical stuff like can juice or extra clothes - sure, but pink rubber? Old coin? Oil lamp? I have no idea what they are for...or WERE for, for that matter. At least the coin points out "someone might appreciate it as a gift". And NO, I am NOT asking what their purpose is.

P.S. the Dungeon shopkeeper is now hostile and calling me a thief, even though I paid for items every time, and the Woods witch keeps accusing me of not paying for her "services"........even though I never used the altar/pedestal thingy, to begin with. Fun times. At least, after I get the fox ears off...maybe :HideThePain:

The slowdown is engine limitation. i have a post further above about that. the tl;dr is: Trap quest counts stuff. ALL the stuff. It counts all the time, even things that don't change. It recalculates the whole game world and every single parameter each time you perform an action. A porn game? HAH try again, it's a counting game. The issue is compounded by game length, undo limits, every region discovered and every NPC or other interactible present (even not-alive ones).

Fox ears should show its uncurse quest of "stealing items" to uncurse itself. Or, you could go in the hotel and use the knife to cut them off...

clockwinding Hence the reason I asked - figured somebody would be able to tell me whether that was actually a slowdown at all. Will see if I run into that again - maybe I missed some super-duper enemy spell or effect that was mentioned in the battle log thingy....or something.

UPD: for some reason, enemies take no damage the first few attacks - "ignores the pain", "shrugs off", "takes the hit without flinching"...anybody know why? At this point, I doubt the game info itself is going to be any help....I also got two stethoscopes and the game choked on them, giving both the same ID (ste) so I can do nothing with either. Nevermind - this game creates too much frustration - I am unable to figure out whiat is the "bugs you should report" and what is actually "rules of the game" - and too little fun for me from the get-go. Not my thing.

yeah i think the game will die sooner or later. but it's over 10 years old

Edit: oh and the engine was made just for an normal text game, not with hypno gifs or even an ui

So there's a bug that's existed for a while that I don't think anyone's brought up yet:
In the normal start menu, the "spontaneous tattoos" option is marked "enabled" by default when it's actually disabled.
Attempt to toggle the option and nothing visually changes, it still says enabled, but the option then actually gets enabled and you get to start with the "ink me" tattoo. But then, if you do a quick start in a future playthrough, spontaneous tats is disabled again.

...Cleared my head, decided to try it one more time, and...

Fought the shopkeeper (he kept groping me, eventually HE aggroed ME), beat him to a pulp, picked "friendship increase" - poof! Not to ever be seen again, and I had a wisp that required me to buy an item from the shopkeeper (which is the reason I went there, in the first place). Oh well. Put the run on the backburner, started a whole new one because noone told me the disabled fetishes remove ITEMS AND ENEMIES, not just the sexy events. Besides, how much can one more "one more time" hurt if I already am doing all of this to myself? Apparently, . Can somebody at least TRY to explain to me why I am going full-on bimbo here? And how to drop it, if possible.

From what I understood, bimbo score is more-or-less a sum of different sex-related stats (and something like equipment modifiers), and player description is practically "Touch me and I will bury you" aside from that one paragraph (which probably represents bimbofication). Clothes? I got a very similar setup (minus the panties) on that "backburner" run, and the level stays at "sensible" (lowest bimbo tier, albeit borderline). Sex? you can see the attitude on the screenshot. I even retained all 3 virginities - oral, vaginal, anal. What the heck keeps contributing to this? I abandoned one of my runs because of this "complete loss of control over the character" nonsense; even though that run was a proper full-blown slut run. This one is not, and I keep sliding towards the same ending.
