The only thing I can recommend is to manually delete the donators.glkdata file and run the debugger again to generate a new one rather than updating the one you have. Sometimes the debugger doesn't properly update that file if it already exists from previous builds. Also, what's the dates on the names of the debugger and the version of Strateg you're using? Mine's 190821 (21 Aug) for the debugger and 190908 (08 Sep) for the game.

But this can not apply to the Strateg version laid out here, where Debag for versions 6.0 fix, and the last known Strateg version is 5.2!

Look about halfway down page 29. Someone already linked the 6.0 hotfix for the Strateg build. If you're not using that one with the latest debugger, then it's not going to work unless you use the debugger that was release before the latest.

10.6.1 is out. I don't have any unlockers, but passing the link on at least.

The unlocker from August should still work. It'll continue to work for each game release until a new unlocker is posted, at which point that unlocker will work for subsequent releases. Basically each game version works for the debugger last released up to the next one.

What's everyone's favourite version? Strateg is by far my favourite. I think it's absolutely beautiful, and it's certainly the most consistent with the rest of the game's artwork. Wonderfuller comes at a solid second though, it's also very pretty. The porn version is okay but just doesn't suit my personal tastes. Danaume is way too cartoonish for my liking, and I hate saying this but the Keriax art style is just ugly IMHO and doesn't fit with the other game art at all.

Yep, Strateg's and Wonderfuller's tend to be most people's preference. It just sucks that item cards for clothing keep getting redone when they are all fine yet nothing so far shows up on the character window. Also, Strateg doesn't seem to believe in blonds being a thing, so that sucks too,

Yeah I was using Wonderfuller's until I saw the Strateg release appear, now I'm refusing to try new versions until an update for that makes its way here.

Every post I've read is full of jargon. Someone needs to make a simplified post of a working link for Windows-specifically for me (and other operating systems) and then pin it to the top of the comments, or/and put it into the main post. I have downloaded EVERY Mega link and yet none of them work - none of them have a 'exe application' link :( I have nearly 3GB of this game in my hard drive now and for what purpose?- to be mislead?- frustration? I now get the gist of why there is only 3 reviews out of 31 pages of comments - the ratio doesn't look good for inexperienced gamers who don't understand jargon. If you want -18yo or/and inexperienced people to not play this game; then you done an excellent job of encrypting EVERYthing written in main post and in the comments. *Low clapping* Edit: And also rename the file to the name in this site. It is known as Trap Quest in this site, but it is known as Gargoyle in the downloads.

There's a detailed Spoiler tag in the OP that says how to run it. But the short version for Windows is, download wingit-135 (link in the spoiler), run it and open the game file with it.

It's not simple because TrapQuest is not like a Ren'Py or HTML game with a single file to run. TrapQuest runs like a console game. You need the console (an interpreter like wingit-135) and a copy of the game itself (of which there are 5 different versions). The simplest instructions for running this game are . The dev also includes a link to the at the top of every new release page, if all that is still too complicated for you.

The reason it's all so complicated is because TrapQuest was written a long time ago in an engine that quite frankly wasn't built to do what Aika is making it do. There's lots of stuff that has been upgraded specifically for TrapQuest by volunteers, and the game still had to be split up into parts because the size of the image files became too big for the engine to handle. Porting the game over to something better has been talked about, but the work involved would take months and there would be zero updates in the meantime. So far the patrons haven't been keen on going that route.

I hate when games are hard to install and run... I've downloaded the game version that I want but it's a gblorb file which can't get extracted by 7zip. So I really have no idea how to get this running.

The post above yours explains it pretty simply. The gblorb file is the game it doesn't need to be extracted. Not sure if you ever done it but if you've played old console games on your computer you need the rom file that is the game and an emulator to play those files. Same concept. The link that Proto Persona posted to the TQ website will give you everything you need with pretty straight forward details and direct links.

But it's the same tutorial as in the OP... I actually did manage to open the gblorb file with git but it basically just looked like a stripped down version with only text and commands etc. So I wasn't sure if that's supposed to be like this.

If you're on windows, make sure you've got WinGit (or any other interpreter, but WinGit is recommended). Then download the GBLORB file, right-click on it, and select "Choose another app" from the "Open with" dropdown. Then select WinGit from the selection box that appears, making sure "Always use this app" is toggled so it will always open with WinGit. If WinGit is not there and you're sure you have it installed, then you'll need to manually tell it where WinGit's launch EXE is. Honestly it's not nearly as hard as you guys make it out to be, it's just sounds like you've never had to tell Windows a specific program to use when launching an executable before.

Btw, the game doesn't have any images or visuals to load up until after you've either started a new game (so you'll go through a number of start game settings pages first or use "Quick Start" or "Quick RANDOM Start") or loaded in a save. If images are still not showing, then you've likely gone into "IMAGE AND LAYOUT SETTINGS" from the startup screen and make sure images are not turned off or, if you're in game, typing in "settings" and hitting enter and checking.

Thank you. I only just read your reply... I did eventually get the game running a few hours after downloading after trying so many ways -I pat myself on the back that I'm more clever than I thought I am..lol- and then play all 5 versions over a course of 4 days, and I thoroughly enjoy it :) Probably the best porn game in existence - if you know any other game close to this, not so much text based; but has the level of kinkiness / fetishism / raunchiness; please hit me up :) I have also joined the Discord-TQ group.
When I get the time / motivation; I will write a step-by-step ""Dummies guide on how to download this game & get it running"", there is quite a bit more to it than what's in your reply.
Edit: And I will change my review and include the 'dummies guide' so that it's easier to find than scrolling through countless comments looking for an easy solution; because not even I could find anything in the first 10 pages.

It's literally the same concept as telling Windows to use a specific media program to run a movie file. In this instance, WinGit is being used to run TrapQuest. I'm honestly dumbfounded how this is throwing people for such a loop.

In the generation of Iphones and app stores tech has become a black box that is expected to work as is, no different than telling people to download a RTP every RPGM thread.
