I installed update but at first cut scene the screen turns black and will not progress. (win 10)

There is new Philweed. In new location with jaguar are two palms in left bottom corner. Under one of them is phileed.
I just tried as well and am getting the lockup when using the Grappling Hook at that spot. I have tried updating via Update Only & downloaded the full game to try that way. Have you found a working solution? -- I'm about to delete the save folder & copy the save back to see if that helps.
Two questions:
1. Can the two bait shop items with the locks be bought already, given that Temple Puzzle 35 can only be opened by buying everything.
2. Does someone have a fishing guide? Which lures works best with what fishes?
