It's a game about transformatives, it would be smarter to have less "core" characters that can have multiple possible forms rather than dozens upon dozens of slightly different characters (but I guess their business model is to allow people to bid to get their OC in and that's why we have all those stuff in there). This would also allow those crew/core characters to matter maybe a bit more (like having companions in CoC/2. I mean some crew members have shops or passive effects but most of them are just, what just space harem ?? It's a waste)
