I'm stopping my patreon pledge this month so it's the last month of me posting backer builds.
A bit of content from one of the community writers and nothing from the main team and a whole ass item not good enough for you?

Don't enjoy getting to experience all those buggy builds first hand anymore? Even those with bugs and crashes so obvious that they happen on the advertised new core scenes in every new build but make it to the life version because the game lacks the most basic quality control since Gedan and Fenoxo are dogshit at their job?

What a shame.

*starts foaming from the mouth*

Yea that sounds about right. I lost interest again so I'm gonna wait for more content and come back when I feel like playing again.

It's been months that we have several busts in the game files, like Creed's, who are efficiently useless because their character aren't even in the game yet. Even worse, when those busts get added, the changelog directly refer to their name as if we'd have an idea as to who the fuck it represents.

I don't really look into the progress of the game other than the changelogs but that, along with having "dead" NPCs who most likely had planned content for years due to their unused nude busts, like Elyrrin, and things like Siobhan who had their bust introduced earlier this year while just not working for all this time, makes me ask wtf is going with the progress of the game. Before, the desync between the art produced and the game's content was actually reversed, given the artists couldn't keep up with the much faster development. Why does everything feel so slow to release now with a supposedly better "engine"?
how many dead npcs are there?

the reason it slowed down i think is because the creators may have lost interest or such. before the creators may have enjoyed working on the game but post engine conversion they look at it like a job.

it seems like they're trying to pour all their work into the new phaedra dungeon whatever and expansion, but are going miserably slow. also i definitely understand not wanting to be a backer anymore after having month after month of tiny, no content updates with nothing really getting better and frequent functionality regressions. hats off to whoever wants to take the monumental task of even trying to mod this thing, because looking into the code will make you never want to look again

i doubt engine conversion is the reason. flash/air isn't a joy to work with, and pre-requisites for them are arguably higher than js/html5. but there was an open repo with game sources some time before the conversion, so joining the project was easier, i think. plus there's a novelty factor, and after a while - any hobby might come feeling like a job when you gain audience that suddenly starts to make demands

Can anyone tell me what went wrong or what's missing in the code I edited in the main javascript of the game? I know that modding is a touchy subject here, but all I wanted was to add more bear content into the game.

Nah bro modding is something we are ALL hoping for here.The only people that consider it a "touchy subject" are either the devs(i STILL dont get why) and the fanboys that just nod along.So mod your self off and share it with the rest of us

I find some js translate
we can use it?
<div id="google_translate_element"></div><script type="text/javascript">

function googleTranslateElementInit() {

new google.translate.TranslateElement({pageLanguage: 'en', includedLanguages: 'en', layout: google.translate.TranslateElement.InlineLayout.SIMPLE}, 'google_translate_element');

}

</script><script type="text/javascript" src="//translate.google.com/translate_a/element.js?cb=googleTranslateElementInit"></script>

Can you assign certain people to turrets on the ship? The game is throwing Paige in there, but she's the navigator so it throws me off.

Savin confirmed on the forum that they only have one full time writer working on the main story, but also added that said writer was going through a rough time, and that we won't see and expansion on main story content for another couple of months. Keep in mind that said comment was made at the end of August, specifically the 23rd of August. That's why things slowed down the way they did. There's a shortage of writers, but plenty of coders, hence why a new class was successfully added, and why there's still bugfixes going on as well as changes to systems already in the game.

while i not saying you're lying, hell i even agree with that statement, it just doesnt feel like its true.
with every update basically requiring a emergency hotfix that ranges from the understandable like "a lot of different systems not interacting properly" to the incomprehensible of new content not working and/or having glaring bugs/typos

i know that backers are basically the beta-testers that pay for their job, but sometimes i wonder who at FenCo is the one not testing the new content and letting it through, mostly because i wish i could just blame one person and not general incompetence of the team

Don't take this as aggression, because it isn't, nor am I being defensive. All I'll say is that, as you can see in my attached picture, what I said came from the horses own mouth. That's why I wouldn't have taken offense even if you DID say I was lying, because I would be able to point back to my source. Whether what Savin said is the truth, that I can't answer because I'm not Savin. All I can do, is show that the information I gave, was the information Savin himself gave to the people on the forum. It's up to the individual person whether or not they believe Savin, but this is the closest thing we'll get to an official explanation as to why the story and content aspect of the updates slowed down.

Thinking of restarting, is Kinectist worth trying out? Or is it still being balanced out? I usually roll with a Tech Specialist and want to try something different.
