A lot of indie devs will throw a joke or two in the patch notes for those who actually read them in their entirety.
"Fixed donkey’s bug that made weapon crafting impossible. (Fenoxo – donkey I’m 86.75309% convinced you do these on purpose, test yo shit.)"

"Hotfix(s), GODDAMNIT DONKEY Edition:"

"Donkey is addicted to making wide-ranging changes to underlying utility code that’s used all over the game and then not actually testing it. That’s a paddlin’"

I'd be cautious to call these jokes.

Does anyone know where to find the Capturing the Slyveren Slavebreaker option in the new patchnotes? I'm struggling to figure it out.
From what I remember reading, you need to have a hard personality. It was described as being very cruel and not for everyone. I would imagine it's the roaming ones in the mines of zhengshi. If not, the only other slavebreakers are in ship combat.

It's not cruel at all. It's just orgasm denial and slapping a harmless slave collar on her neck.
Many generic enemy loss rape scenes are far more cruel than any of the slyveren enslavement content. :KEK:

That's...almost a predictable overstep. I mean, the slave collars are definitely fucked up. But like you said, plenty of enemies do far worse.

Edit: Actually, thinking about it. There are several NPCs that do way worse to you.

Honestly if Donkey is actually repeatedly doing these code changes I'm think its warranted.
nothing wrong w reprimanding employees but dude come on why tf can i see him doing it ? it's like the principal making fun of a teacher for leaving a mess in the break room or something, infront of the class.. the class doesn't really need to see that shit. then the principal is telling the students "yeah I couldnt use the breakroom microwave because someone wink wink nudge nudge didn't clean out their cheese" like alright man. its over.. been over

Considering this has def happened before with other hotfixes I can see just being done with it and tired and just saying it even if he should not have. Something something public shaming I suppose?

I'm fine with Fenoxo calling Donkey a bad boy in public if he keeps fucking up.
This is all pretty eh to me, they are a chronically online mini company. Fenoxo has previously talked about all kinds of personal shit, this is pretty tame by comparison.
I would be on board with you guys if this was the patch notes for a Blizzard or Riot game, but this is literally a semi obscure porn game made by a mini team. It is a bit silly to expect professional decorum from these people.
On the right side of their website there is literally a poll asking people if they give the brown space elf lady a horse cock or not.

I thought it was indicative of larger problems. problems like management being less in control of the project. having less respect for their employees. management expecting the public to support the shift of accountability to non management members. it's a drop in communicative professionalism, fuck a chronically online environment a spade is a spade. The difference this time is fenoxo isnt talking ab himself. and it's really not comparable to a content poll

I don't think a few short comments are enough to say anything about anything, text often fails to carry with it the intended tone. Donkey might be holding back tears reading Fenoxo's comments, or might go "haha, mb bro" we have no idea what their internal behind the scenes communication or dynamic really is.
You read it as a boss bullying his employees, i read it as a frustrated porn dev oversharing on his blog for the nth time.

both of these can be true and probably are.

where there's smoke there is fire. I deep everything bc i would be bored otherwise. i don't think anything has popped off yet. I just think fenoxos reached a point where he felt it pertinent to put words to his frustration.. publicly.. consciously or not. and what all that means is that communication/direction has broken down enough that they can't speak to one another's faces. that fenoxo has to be passive aggressive. yeah the ball is in donkeys court

Are the coders paid members of the team? If not I can see donkey pulling a Wil(and so many writers before) and just leaving as well.

idk but if I get reeaaaal deep.. into my speculative gossip bag, i think gedan truly adores being fenoxos goodest girl, if any coder is on payroll its her. bit of a teachers pet if you will, and fenoxo likes her back(a long time ago on the forums i mentioned a jerynn bug/ wasnt even a bug really just collar continuity thing, and that same day~ a fix was out, with an adittional paragraph. I remember it being fast as fuck, my forum acc didnt even get likes back then but a mention ab her character was a top priority) and I've only noticed this within the last few months. them eyefucking eachother from their cubicles i mean. I doubt the relationships suddenly changed. she did rebuild the whole game when flash died.

All I know is that "That's a paddlin'" is a meme line from a movie (dunno which, I wanna say Clerks?), so I think it's in jest. Donkey *has* been going around and standardizing everything in the code for as long as they've been on staff though, you can see it in all the updates, them breaking something is less an indictment of them than of the prior code and I think that's the faux frustration Fen's on about. I dunno, maybe I'm reading it wrong.
