there's some classic lines & scenes in this game, like the whole scene with the elders plotting, but those 2 have to be the bestOne of my favorite bits of conversation from v0.46.

Hello all!
The rendering is where I want it to be, roughly. I managed to get where I wanted to be by Sunday despite having issues... note to self: no dforce hair ever... Right, the current scene will take two days to render, and to my annoyance it's almost double the usual render time, then there is at least two days for the last two scenes. Assuming there are no issues with any of them. So, things are going in the right direction. And most of you already know that in the long run rendering taking one or two days longer doesn't matter much. Anyway...
Writing... I mostly did some auxiliary writing over the weekend, but overall it's in okay shape. I'm mostly happy and should be able to continue tonight. Granted, writing something not so critical was kind of needed just to ensure things would go smoothly. And I'm going to avoid spoilers now... so...
Lan, Red Lily... Just for the record, she isn't shooting in the air. There is a third guy behind her who got hit. But you can’t see it from this angle. And her pose is... slightly unrealistic but a) she is flexible and b) magic... that's my excuse. Lan is... I'm not going to say problematic character, but more unknown. Why Lan got introduced when she did? That is a good question. The answer is. I already knew that I would make a sequel, and Lan is one of the core members of the house, so I wanted them to be there already. This way, things are easier going forward regarding all of them. They are there, and I don’t need to make another elaborate way to introduce any of them. Anyway, time to fix some issue, take a break and continue rendering.

i'm sure he is. still more later.At this point the MC should be used to getting told he has knocked up another one
tower guardian? that reqs quite a bit moreplanning etc if tal even does it.

There've been hints that way. Well, her talking with Yuu about being solid (I think we all know where that'd lead...) - not really pregnancy per se.

Hello all!
I'm tired... it's been a week. I'm coding the update as we speak, although about to take a short break to relax my brain. Rendering is done, coding is going... release might be a day later than I want depending on upload speed and how fast I can get the testing done. The usual stuff. So, I'll write more once I've done the coding and start rendering 0.49.0 on Monday... so business as usual? But I'll know on Monday about the uploads and things.
Malgrin... no, this isn't the time either when we tell him about his potential sons, but it's soon, I think it was in 0.49.0 like some other things people have been waiting for. But these talks are more about the little things, the friendship between Tomas and Malgrin, and what they do mean for each other. For Malgrin, saving Tomas and Iraea when they were kids was a turning point; he got meaning from it. Which is also why he was rescuing the Rose all those years ago instead of drinking himself to death. And encountering Tomas after all those years just reinforced the meaning. After all, Tomas never got the chance to release him from the oath he took. But it goes beyond the oath now; they are friends, and they've been tested in battle.
And then something else. In a sense, I like sequels; you don't need to introduce the "main cast" again as is, and it is easier to reinforce who they are in them. Granted, I made this because I had an idea, and I had a suitable area for it. One of my annoyances has been the lack of diverse urban areas. I can "fake" larger American cities fairly easily, but that's where it ends. Luckily in recent years there have been a few sets I can use to expand where I could take the story into. Instead of some random warehouses and the middle of the forest... which will still be used often. But now it allows me to introduce certain characters in a way I actually want. Take the twin-tailed cat girl, for example. Her name is Sayuri, by the way. Introducing her would have been a headache during Sorcerer, and the only ways I had then would have been... not who she is. Now? Now I can introduce her as she is in the background material I already have. Well, let's say it will be an interesting trip. And no, Miyuki is done playing the damsel in distress... Anyway, break, then more coding! You all have a great weekend!

Looking at this preview, I got a feeling, that Miyuki will change a bit and will look a little more in direction of Ayaka, than how we have seen her in first game. Probably mostly because of different, updated model. Just, there were some images since some time, that presented her, but I couldn't recognize who she is.
Only thing that has really changed is the hair; the original looked... flat when compared to the more... let's say "modern" hairs.
