I went back to reread the wife's letter to the mc at the start of the game, which I had forgot about. She admits everything up front, without implicating the rest of the crazy-ass family in the plot -

1) She divorced the mc and went into hiding to save the mc from his notions of revenge against the establishment while in prison.

2) She secretly sent work the mc's way with the help of the famous politician.

3) She was so grateful for the politician's help, she married him as a favor to stop rumors about his gay lifestyle.

4) To deter Milly's obsession about returning to her father, she told a lie to Milly that the mc didn't love them anymore because he had found another woman.

5) She says there are blackmailers with compromising footage of the politician who want some kind of info that may be hidden in the home.

6) And finally, she claims the mc is the only man she has ever loved or fucked and has been using dildos for years. Of course, that's kind of a lie because we discover she enjoyed a little play time with Julia.

While this was helpful for my memory, it's still absurd that the wife sends the mc work when he's out of prison instead of returning to him or at least contacting him. Like other posters have said, the explosion was probably staged, and the wife and politician are in hiding somewhere. She'll make a reappearance at some point.

Like Deb never fucked another man besides the MC, though she's obviously bisexual and pretty much admitted she was fucking every woman available because she couldn't marry the MC and was trying to fill a void or whatever her lame ass excuse was. It's the same weird "logic" TundraLupus talked about a few comments above. A romantic relationship between two (or in some cases more) consenting adults, is still a relationship even if they are both the same sex. There isn't some kind of rule about male-female, female-female or male-male relationships, that dictates which "counts" more than the rest. And I'm saying that as someone who's only interested in heterosexual content in these games.

Out of curiosity, have you tried to play the mc making choices that earn less authority points? My understanding is the developer envisions Deb as faking her dominant side to protect herself from the pain of mc sleeping with other women, even though it turns out he didn't. Underneath, she's really submissive, and so the more authoritative you are with her, the more her softer side emerges. I'm wondering if choices make a difference in this game. If the mc has more willpower points and less authority points, does Deb keep her more dominant personality? I've only done one playthrough where I have a lot of authority points.

they somewhat do, my play style is kinda in the middle of the road since a lot of the "authority" points are linked with being an asshole, that is why I don't have some nice scenes with Jules for example, I have very negative willpower in the game but my authority is high but not that high, it gives you extra scenes/choices, both autorithy and willpower, and it does affect her, the more of an asshole you are the more she pushes back to a point, the middle of the road she is actually very neutral she fights the Mc but also respects him more because he still shows he cares, I didn't play low authority in a while, so I'm not aware of many more changes in that part, overall though I see the change in Deb in the latest updates as her realizing that the secret would come out soon, maybe even planing to spill it helsef, it feels like she is full of guilt and trying to distance herself as a form of self-punishment, so I think this is something that happens in all autorathy levels, but again I'm not 100% sure, I haven't replayed the latestes updates in different paths or had a deep look in the code.

I think I also said that Deb is a more sympathetic character than all of them, including the mc. To me, the only family member who is more appealing than Deb is Milly.

Well first it depends, if she said he is the only man she ever loved and fucked, she is saying the absolute truth, Julia isn't a man, so that wasn't a lie if she clearly said he was the only man she ever loved and fucked. Second she likely didn't feel for Julia anywhere near as she felt for him, so on the loved part its quite possibly also very much true, as for the fucked, well if it was clearly stated man, well again she didn't lie. Also you forgot the fact she had sex with Deb too I think, so you know its not like that was any newer, its sorta hard for him to argue too much on that part anyway considering he was in a 'secret' incestuous affair with his sister, also frankly considering the debate about NTR going around its possible she considered things the same as some do and didn't count any relationship with Deb or Julia to count as cheating.

The thing is their is a certain... relationship sexism that exist with men in particular, you'll find a fair amount of men that have issues with gay men that have no issues with lesbians, many also aren't likely to consider their female partner having sex with another female to be an issue, while obviously its not universal, the fact remain that its still likely a majority.

Which is where the entire debate about NTR that happened in this thread came from, namely that for many it doesn't count, now I personally understand the point of view of both sides, which probably get summed up to 'if I am also attracted to the one my partner had sex with, is it really a problem for them to have had sex together?' now personally I don't mind, but I understand not everyone would think that way.
