Black, I am also a published author, and I have helped in writing two different VN games, one of them was fairly popular, and I am helping in editing another VN as I write this. Since your story is fiction AND it IS porn, somewhat, to a "cartoon" degree, I guess, instead of being whatever this dude is being, if I were writing it, just to add a bit of humor, I might name the "agency" one of two choices: 1. Interpole or 2. Inherhole. This may be picky, but it bugs the crap out of me when game authors don't even research for 5 minutes on a search engine.
Where is "Midland" anyway? It cannot possibly be in the USA, as Interpol has zero jurisdiction and no authority in the USA. Interpol is generally just a means for law enforcement to share information and cooperation between nations. Interpol does not have diplomatic immunity either. It job is it helps organizations like the FBI when other countries are involved. Each nation's law enforcement handles investigations and arrests, not Interpol. Interpol keeps them up to date, and has no agents of their own... at all.
The entire premise for the beginning of this game is an eye roller. Instead of Interpol, make it the CIA or His Majesty's Secret Service, which have secret agents, but not Interpol. They are an office-only organization, basically a secure database for nations to draw from for information, with people on workstations.
For someone to be arrested based on an Interpol red flag or notice, that evidence must satisfy the USA's legal standards, and any witnesses MUST be able to be questioned and cross-examined. Also, unless a crime outside of the USA constitutes a direct attack on the USA or its agents, the USA has no authority to arrest and try them. However, if the nation requesting punishment requests extradition, then that individual can fight extradition in US court and then the nation requesting can arrest and charge them once extradited, or be given the finger if the judge determines extradition is uncalled for. Nations must have permission from other nations to arrest someone in their sovereign land.
Yes, it's just a porn game, but come on, give a liitle believability to the fantasy.
Hey, Black, not to appease this dude, but if you ever wanted to insert a chuckle or two in your work, something like that would do it. In fact, it would be hilarious! Or don't. It doesn't matter. Just do your thing, man. My original suggestion was for the aesthetics of the sexual act; to make it more arousing, intimate, and tantalizing, you know? This guy's suggestion is more about taking a fictitious work of art and making it non-fiction, which is a fine line with fiction. In one of my published novels, I used a fictitious town. In a subsequent novel, Book 2 of the series, I introduced another town, which was real, in another part of the country. But it really didn't matter. The crux of the story really hadn't much to do at all with the names of the towns but more of what was going on within them and with their residents.
swelldude: And where in the world did you get the idea that even the remotest scintilla of believability accompanies fantasy? The definition of fantasy is: The creative, capricious imagination; unrestrained fancy.
Now, does that sound like something that is supposed to be believed? Your proposal is simply ridiculous. If you have a problem with alphabet agencies, then you're in the wrong forum, chief!
